January Weight Loss Challenge - We Can Do This!!

I've had so many carrots today I'm going to turn

ORANGE

And although I've only had 2 cups of water, I feel like I'm about to float away. So when you see that orange bouy floating out there in the ocean, stop by and say hi becuase it's me!

Y'all have some suggestions for other snacks I can have besides carrots? Not into celery. Prefer something salty, but I guess that's about out. I tried rice cakes once, years ago, and as I remember, cardboard is tastier.

Help?????

Well, I may get ambushed for this, but...

I'm a sweet and salty craver. What I usually end up doing is have an apple, cut in half, and sprinkle it with some salt. I use Gala or Honey Crisp apples because they are so sweet. I did this at least once a day in the fall when I was losing weight very well. I guess because I drink so much water (100 - 120 oz. per day) that the salt doesn't really have an effect on me.

Also, I personally like popcorn cakes better than rice cakes and always buy the flavored (such as ranch) minis.

Sounds intriguing. Definitely worth a shot. I'm gonna give both of them (salted apples and popcorn cakes) a try.

I did pretty good on food yesterday except for when i was lying in bed and the parmesan cheese was just calling to me. I like eating it straight out of the can as a snack. I just need to make sure there's no munchies in my bedroom. I'll clear that out today and I'm sure I'll do better.

Went to the gym last night and one of the employees turned me on to a new machine. Can't remember what it's called. It's something like an elliptical. Feels like stairclimber/treadmill combo but you never move your feet off the pedals (they move) so it's low impact. After 20 minutes I could definitely tell that it was a better workout than the treadmill. Heading off to do that again in a few minutes.

I was listening to the local CBS television channel on the radio on the way home and they mentioned that The Early Show today will show. They asked something like does music help you work out? Yes, yes, yes!! I find that a good mix of music definitely keeps me going. What about you guys?

I'm down two this week! So happy to see after a small gain mid-week. That makes me 7/10 for the month.

Looking good everyone!!

Hey, whatever gets you through the day, right? For snacking, I put a little peanut butter (natural) on the apple. I try to have a little protein with my snacks (it keeps me fuller). I also eat almonds (14) or yogurt.

I've heard that somewhere before. I wonder why protein keeps one fuller?

we'll I lost another 2 lbs so I"m at 11/10 :rotfl: :dance3:

passed my goal!!!!!! for the month

Weighed in yesterday. It "looks" like I am down another 2 pounds, but difficult to tell on my dial scale. Could be more like 3.... but it was definitely at least 2, so that is what I am calling it.

So I am 7/12 this month. I'm going to have to bust it out to lose those additional 5 in the next 14 days. Any suggestions??

I weighed in this morning and showed a loss! I am leaving for WDW today, so hopefully I can keep it on track.

3.5/5

I am down .5 so I am 4.5/8! I'll take it!

Good luck to all :thumbsup2

I was doing pretty good last night until I got a jonesin' for some potato chips. So today I thought I'd ask you guys... how do you combat the munchies? They strike me at all hours of the day and no matter what I'm doing. I think it's knowing that I can't have something that makes me want it sooooo bad.

There are some weeks I do well, others not so much. Even on the weeks I do well I have alternatives. Instead of potato chips I have Soy Protein Chips. Instead of regular cookies I eat a 100 Calorie version. On the weekends I am less strict so I usually have some ice cream or a dessert.

I DID IT I AM DOWN 5/5!!!:cool1: ONLY 5 MORE TO REACH MY END GOAL FOR A TOTAL OF 33 POUNDS!!!
