We are thinking of changing our cruise from Feb 05 to the last week in Jan 05 so we are able to use some frequant flier miles for airline tickets.

Can anyone tell me what the weather is like typically in January.

Would it be warm enough at Nassua and CK to swim and enjoy ourselves?

Thanks for your help!

We went in January and it was warm enough. We were on an Eastern and snorkeled in St. Thomas and CC.

It was breezy, rainy, and cool while in FL though.

HTH!

I dont mind it being cool at wdw because you can wear sweatshirts and layers but it is more difficult to layer at the beach.

Thanks for the input.

The weather in late January and Feb. will be about the same so I wouldn't worry about it. The weather here in Florida is a gamble. When we left for our cruise this past Jan., it was perfect to wear shorts. During the week we were away, it changed drastically and we frooze when we got off the ship. As far as during the cruise, it was perfect!

On our Jan 2003 trip, it was about 60 degrees at Port Canaveral, in the low 70s in Nassau, mid 70s in Castaway Cay, low 70s at sea, and low 60s back at Port Canaveral. The next day, we went to Animal Kingdom, and it was 28 degrees that morning! Finally warmed up to about 49 or 50. It was still a wonderful cruise, but I didn't get in the pools like I did on our May 7 day cruise.

The shorter cruises aren't nearly as far south as the 7 day cruises, so the weather can be colder at that time of year. I don't think it's likely to be much different between Jan and Feb though.

This is my first DCL cruise but about two years ago my wife and I went on a Western Carribean cruise (on one of those less family-friendly lines) during the second week of February. It was plenty warm enough for swimming and snorkeling. You might want to pack a jacket, sweatshirt or sweater, though, as it got a bit chilly on deck after sunset.

wonder if we were on the same one. It was cool leaving PC, but warmed up perfectly for the rest of the week. 80's and high 70's at CC, we swam at every port as well.

Not sure about the weather BUT we had to change our travel dates from the middle of Feb 05 to the end of January 05 and we saved over $1000 by doing so.

Hi, I am on the Jan 29th 2005 cruise, 9 of us. There is a thread on the Cruise Meets.

I have sailed the last two years the last week of January. This will be the third year. We have had wonderful weather each year. We have swam, snorkled, sunbathed, shopped, and eaten ourselves to death.

I have DS16, DS15, DS15, DD11 and DD8. The girls are looking for new friends this trip as most of their friends from the last 2 cruises are not returning this year and they are sad.:( :(

If you have any DD's let me know!

Lisa
ps: this cruise is a western and will not go to Nassau :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We are on the Jan 23-27 Wonder with DD's 13, 11, 9, 6 - too bad we were not on the same cruise the girls are close in age.
