January weather

We are thinking of rescheduling our DL trip to Jan or Feb/05 rather than fall of 04. Would we be able to swim or will it be too cold and rainy? Any suggestions on which week to go?

Hello! We just got back from our trip to Disneyland (the first week of February). I swam at the hotel pool! I'm from the Northwest, and the 65 - 75 degree weather was perfectly fine swimming temperatures for us. Some people think that's way too cold, but I think it's about what you are used to. It rained only one time, and that was about the time the park closed so it didn't really matter much to us. I was glad it rained because it kept the temperatures nice and cool!

I think the first week of February is a great time to go. If you go too early in January, you'll miss a couple attactions because they'll be undoing their Christmas decorations. You probably don't want to go during presidents day week in mid February because the crowds will be much larger. I would definitely go with with late January or early February.

W/o looking at any actual research on Jan-Feb temps in So Cal, as a 42 year resident I'd guess Jan is actually a bit warmer and less rainy than Feb, on average, and with either one you have a pretty decent chance of good weather. In the last 6 weeks, my sons have played in the sprinklers in swim trunks and t-shirts several times; plenty of days have been high 60's to mid-70's, with some even warmer (those were in Jan). I love Jan here!

Thanks! That's just what I needed to know! We were just talking tonight and think we might make it January 31 - Feb 9th. That would avoid Martin Luther King day and President's day I'm assuming. Also gives us a few paycheques after Xmas to catch up!


Hmmmm.....now to change my countdown box....
