We are going to Disney World at the end of January for the first time with our 4- and 6-year old daughters. Those who have been at this time of year, how cold does it get? And how hot in the mid-day? Does it rain every afternoon like it does in June? I don't know wether to pack lots of shorts or lots of sweats! Also, any special rainy day activities I should know about for my princesses? Thanks for any input!princess: princess:

Think layers, because it could go either way. High temps might be in the 70s and dip as low as the 30s this time of year. Pack a light jacket or sweatshirt to ward off the chill when you get near the lakes as well.

We'll be there in 11 days and after last year which was very cold, we'll be packing a little of everything. The long range forecast is looking pretty good so far but you still need to be prepaired. Last year there were time when we started off with a jacket then changed into shorts and put on sweatshirts in the evening. I would'nt worry about rain January is one of the driest months in Florida. Have a great time and welcome to Dis.:firefight

mtdevine615,

I'm going next week ... So happy !!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Where (site) can I get a reliable long range forecast ?

Thanks in advance.

We just returned from 5 days at Disney. I ended up packing a regular size suitcase and a smaller one for an assortment of clothes and I'm very glad that I did. Our first few days there, the daytime temps reached 82 and we were in shorts. Evenings did cool off enough that I was comfortable in jeans and a light jacket. Right before we left, the cold weather did settle in and I was in jeans, a sweater, jacket and mittens. We only experienced one brief shower when we were there and it was late at night, about 8:30pm. I would suggest packing for a range of temps and if you're planning on spending a full day in the park, take advantage of the lockers. Bring a change of clothes and just leave them in a locker. The sun still feels very warm, but at night when it goes down, the air temp can get quite chilly.

We are also going with our 4 and 6 year old dd's. Last year it was 28 when we went to the MK with gloves and winter coats and by the end of the week it was warm enough to go to the water parks. We have been there the last 3 years in Jan and the temp has ranged from 28 to 88. Pack a little of everything.

Thank you all for the info. Seems unanimous -- pack for everything! The lockers are a good idea too. See you January DISers there!
