I want to book a trip for Jan 5 thru Jan 10. Is the New Year's crow thinned out by then? Can anyone tell me if this is a good or bad time choice? I'm a newbie wanting to book a January trip.
Thanks everyone! :sunny:

We went from New Year's Day to Jan. 10 this year. By Mon the 3rd the crowds were gone and we didn't use FastPass the rest of our stay. We ignored EMH for the first time ever. The daily temps were in the 70s to 85. We ate in Epcot late afternoon at a different sit-down restaurant each day (Morocco, Tepanaki, Le Cellier, etc) and walked in without PS. It's a great time to go, IF you luck out on the weather as we did. I studied 7 years of historical weather data and this week is usually the coldest, our week being the best in the last 8 years. That's the only risk you take, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. The pic below is of us at 'our' table in the Rose & Crown from that week. We got the seat there every afternoon for our pre meal libations.

Thanks, Bill. Cool weather sounds fine to me. You look plenty warm and rosy.
We went a couple of months ago in June. Very hot, crowded and rainy. I decided to make a drastic change for the better this trip.
Thanks for the vote.

we've gone 2 times in the first week+ of Jan...both times it has had cold( usually no lower than 50 during the day but 30 at night, 04 was an exception...i think it was close to 30s during the day and windy to boot) for a day or two and warm/hot,75-80 for the rest of the days.usually it is comfortable with a sweatshirt or jacket at night and shorts during the days but you have to prepare for both. however i don't think it has ever rained then ( when we were there). the ride lines are mostly none existent except maybe 15 mins mid afternoon for something like RNR. i really like it then as the weather you can prepare for and deal with... not so with wall to wall people or 90+ weather. just don't think of Fl in Jan as 90 everyday(it's amazing how many peole have little kids running around in 50 weather in shorts and tank tops????don't they ever check the weather before they vacation and take the approiate clothes or buy th kid a sweat shirt!)

This will be our first trip in January, from the 27th to Feb 4th. We've been twice in September. I was a bit worried and actually upset with dh for insisting we wait until January to go but now I'm pretty happy about it!! Based on the posts here, the crowd level will be low, and even if the weather is cooler we'll still be in Florida rather than NewEngland! Now if we can avoid flight delays due to snow storms..... we'll be all set!!
Have fun!!!!

We've gone in Jan. Feb, for the last 3 years, this will be our 4th. It is a great time to go....... low crowds, value season, nice weather usually, but yes, prepare for varied weather and you'll be fine. We love going at this time of year, you won't be disappointed!!!

Have Fun!!

I heard it might be a little busier because alot of schools districts aren't going back until the 9th of Jan. I'm not too worried, I'll be there on the 4th. :confused3

We went January 3-7 last year. The most we waited for any ride was 20 minutes between fastpass tickets. Some of the most popular rides (Dumbo comes to mind) do fill up later in the morning. Have fun, with good planning you'll have a great trip. :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earboy2:
