January Trip

Hi everyone, I'm looking for planning info. We would like to try Disney in January and I was planning on the second week after the new year but studing up on what's happening at that time I found out about the marathon. I would appreciate whatever you can tell me about how this may impact our stay. Any and all advice welcome! Thanks!

We arrived the Sunday of the marathon this January.

Didn't affect us....DTD a little busy Sunday night.

The week following....all I can say is that I didn't wait in line anymore until Friday night @ Epcot.

We had a great week with low crowds, but once the week-end hit MLK weekend I think??? it was very busy.

We enjoyed our January visit.

I've been there twice this time of year (08 and 06) and I have to say, it's fabulous.

The only issue is the weather- it was COLD our first 3 days this year and then warmed up (like hat/scarf/gloves still shivering cold).

The crowds will be minimal (despite what others say )

we are from northern canada

my husband had shorts on.....LOL!

We stood out so much that we got chosen for the honoary famliy of the Safari in AK. The Dream Team couldn't help but notice us scantly dressed folk in the crowd. LOL

We also swam every day. It was like a crisp spring morning for us...we loved it
