DH Age 27 Kindly indulges my Disney Obsession
Me Age 27 Disney Nut
Disney Vacation Club Members
I have never in three years of teaching taken a personal or sick day, so when I asked my principal if I could take 2 days off for Disney, he was wonderful about it. He even let me sneak out an hour early on Friday to make my flight on time. Another teacher covered me for the last hour and I was all set. A friend drove my hubby and I to the airport so that we could shave off the time needed to park, etc. We were really nervous about making our 5:30pm flight, because we left my school at 2:45 and the airport was more than an hour away. In the past it would have been close, but with all the lines for the new securitychecks, I was worried. It all turned out great and the security line was a breeze.
The flight from Detroit to Orlando was uneventful. We waited a really long time for a MEARS shuttle. We waited in line for the ticket (had made internet ressies, but that meant nothing) and then waited another half hour for the van. Once we got on one, ours was the last stop after 4 other Orlando hotels. We were the only Disney resort. None of this waiting would have been a vig deal, but I was SOOO ANXIOUS to get to Disney that 5 minutes felt like hours. We finally reached the Polynesian and checked in. I love the part where they put leis on you!!! I felt so special! We got room 3929 in the building I requested. (Tokelau) Next time I hope for Tahiti concierge, but that was too many vacation points for this trip. Our room was still really great. We got sandwiches from Cooks and a refill mug (GREAT) DH later went for a swim and I wandered the grounds. This was our first stay at the Poly. We went to bed exhausted and SO happy to be at Disney.
