January Pool Advice

We are planning a trip to WDW in January (staying at Saratoga Springs). Just curious to know if all the swimming pools are open in January -- and is it really even warm enough to swim at that time of year? (This question is coming from someone in Michigan!)

Yes, all the pools are open and heated. In my experience you still won't find them quite warm enough, January weather in Fla can range wildly from snowflakes to quite warm in the afternoon, and you have to get to the heated pools and out of the heated pools, but we still do and always enjoy it. Although, honestly, I spend most of my time in hot tub!

We were there in Jan 2004, the day we arrived we wore our winter coats, hats and gloves, we are from PA, that was a Saturday, by Wednesday we were swimming, the pools were heated and it was about 75 degrees, it was perfect. I would take swimsuits just in case but also pack the hats and gloves.

We LOVED going in January, the crowds were low and the week weather wise turned out GREAT

We are from Boston and we have gone in Jan. two years in a row. We went swimming both trips and went to the waterparks. It was cold this last trip but we didn't care.

Now, THAT'S a strategy!

What's probably true, is that the kids (if there are kids?) won't think there's an issue. It's not Michigan. It is Florida. And it's DW, of course we are going to get wet!
