January meets - who else will be enjoying low crowds?

DH and I will be at Disney January 18 - 21. It's been 11 years since he's been there, about a year and a half for me. Can't wait to go back!! I was wanting 4 nights there, he only wanted 2, so we compromised on 3 but I still don't think that'll be enough time. :( Oh well, 3 nights is better than no nights!! :thumbsup2 We're planning on spending most of our time at EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom. Might go to Animal Kingdom just for "It's Tough to be a Bug" as well. :) Hoping for nice weather and low crowds!! The last time we were there in January was 2001 and it wasn't crowded AT ALL. No fast passes were needed, only waited 5-10 minutes for any ride/attraction, and many times we walked right on. It was wonderful! But since it's been so long since we've been there in January, I'm not sure how the crowds are anymore. I guess we'll find out. :)

:thumbsup2 hmmmm in my case I just pick a spot and starts drinking hihihi:cutie:

That works, too. As long as I find a safe ride home/to my hotel I'm down for drinking. I doubt the airline would accept a drunk passenger. It'll be interesting.

FH and I are going to be at Disney from Jan 5-Jan 9.
We're going to Epcot on Jan 6 (and EMH at MK)
I'm running the 5k on Jan 7 then we're probably going to hang out at DTD.
FH and his dad are attempting the Goofy challenge, so
Jan 8 - half marathon
Jan 9 - full marathon and flying home.

Busy schedule!

Look for me in the 5k, I'll be the one with magenta sequined mouse ears. :)

January starts in 2 weeks! Everyone's countdown is starting to hit those exciting lower numbers.

Anyone interested in a photopass share? Send me a PM. I'm interested, but don't think we'd take $99 worth of photos.

I am bring my teen for the 17-21st he loves to run off by himself and ride , so i will be solo. any other solos this week? We are staying at POP century.

I will be there with my DH, our 4 kids, my sister and her daughter Jan 2-7. We are staying at POR.

since i live here i wont be on a long term vacation, but I will definitely be there on January 3rd for my bday!:cool2:

Hi everyone! I guess it's about time I posted on this board, since we don't have any kids. DH and I will be staying at WL Jan 25-Feb 1. Not sure if we can drink around the world with you on the 28th, though, as that is one of the potential nights we might be meeting up with a local friend to hang out outside WDW. We'll be around that week, though, so maybe we'll see some of you!

Arriving January 3rd, BWVs, leaving on the 11th to head home. I'll be the one with the 21 year old daughter and the two of us pushing my parents in wheelchairs! Definitely have Jellyrolls on the agenda some night now that youngest is 21 - probably the 8th (older daughter is flying in for my mom's birthday on the 7th)

January 29-Feb 5 at Fort Wilderness Cabins with two of my women friends from our summer campground! I've never been to WDW in the winter...usually June-November is when I schedule our trips.

I read that the average temp is 70 during the day and in the 50's at night. Is that accurate? Just wondering what to pack.

Thanks! Pammie

From what I've read, it can really fluctuate. Those are probably the average temps, but we were just there in Dec. and it got into the 30s at night (20s in the days right after we left). There were also a couple of days in the mid-70s, and I'm reading now about temps in the high 70s. I think your best bet would be to check the 10-day forecast right before you leave. That's what we did, and we thankfully had some cold-weather gear packed.

Bumping this to see how everyone's holding up. I'm far too excited to run the half marathon.

I'm staying offsite. I finally booked that on Tuesday. I'm also looking at catching the Magic game, but I'm more interested in the Amway Center than the game itself.

I've been watching the forecasts too. Hoping the temps stay as forecast. Last year the marathon was during the big freeze. 4am + 22 degrees = not fun.

Great idea, and I will be sure to do that. I live in northern New England, so anything above 30 will be just fine with me!

Last day before January starts! If anyone is going to be there during the last week of Jan (when I am), PM me if you want to swap numbers/emails for possible meetups.

Run well to all those going for Marathon weekend - I wish you all good weather.
