January Harry Pottery Event - should i skip it?

Hi,

Decided to add a day to our adults only Disney stay which happens to be on January 26th. Just saw that there is a Harry Potter event going on from January 24 - 26th.

Just how bad (crowded) is it going to be? DH does not know about any part of this trip - total surprise after a very difficult year. I don't want our last day to be spent battling the crowds. Do you think the crowd levels will be equivalent to summer crowds or worse?

We are staying at the Portofino.

Staying onsite will help with the lines but it will still be very busy that weekend. I think crowds will rival Spring Break in terms of volumes of people. WWoHP will obviously be wall to wall but you shouldn't have any problems with the rest of the park.

Thank you for your response. That's what I was afraid of. I was able to switch my dates around so now we are arriving on the 23rd instead of the 24th. Hopefully, we will miss most of the crowds.
