January/February 2018 discounts, who else is in?

Actually, if you look at the site the original poster mentioned, the source adds that the Little Mermaid rooms are also excluded. And the source also mentions that both the Moderate and Deluxe resorts should both include the Regular Dining Plan in the Play, Stay, Dine offer.

Hopefully, everything pans out next week and we can all book these discounts and move on with the rest of our obsessive overplanning! I need to start planning Fastpasses!

They also mention a hotel rate discount promo for stays between 1/1/18 and 4/14/18, with an addittional discount buying 5 or more days park hooper tickets.

Yes, EST.

I had alarms set every hour at 5 mins past 1am then starting at 5:05am I increased them them to every 30 mins. It was a disrupted night's sleep but paid off when I had 3 trips booked for friends before the phone lines even opened.

Does it show up on the website for the early release or are you referring to when it was released to the general public?

I just called on the off-chance something would come out on a Saturday for Disney Visa cardholders. No dice. The CM said if anything comes out, it’ll be within the next couple of weeks.

I’m hoping it’s soon!! The waiting is driving me nuts! LOL

Which website are you referring to - the Chase Disney Rewards website or the official Disney World travel site, where you book your own travel? Thank you in advance!

I am Canadian so referring to the General Public offers. Unfortunately International visitors are not eligible for a Disney Visa so I don't know how their offers work or where they are visible.

The good thing is normally the DV offers drop first so we get a couple of days heads up that offers will be coming, we just don't know the exact time the website will be updated and go live thus the multiple alarms set. It's worked wonderfully for me the past few years as I book online before things get crazy at 7am.

I’m new here and just have a few questions 1. We have a 10 day trip planned for early February when the discounts drop for us will there be a code to use or is it first come first serve thing? 2. Like I said we already have our rooms booked 5 days at akl and 5 at contemporary if they are already booked can you apply the discount to the existing reservations or do you have to make new?? Thanks guys

If we make a new reservation rather than modifying an existing reservation, can we keep all our dining reservations? I'm wondering if I snag a new reservation before 7 am and then don't have to wait on hold for hours at 7 am. I didn't see a button to modify my reservation on the website. It said to call to make changes.

If the website says to call, you can try to do that understanding that the phone lines will be extremely busy. You can also try to book new reservations online if you wish (Look under 'Special offers') and book something new. Applying a Special Offer to your existing reservation or securing a new one will be based on availability when you get through.

Yes, you can. Dining reservations are not linked to an actual reservation so you can keep all of those even if you book a new reservation.

I was on the Disney site late last night (1:00 am) and availability at POR disappeared before my eyes in a matter of minutes leaving only King rooms available for February so yeah, something is about to drop. I'm a Disney Visa member so hopefully that will give me a little leeway. :hourglass:worship:

Quick question! We plan on staying at a moderate resort. We only want to do the quick service plan this time though. With the play stay and dine discount, can you do a moderate resort with a quick service plan? This is all assuming the moderates get to do the regular dining plan of course.

Let me see if I can help :)

There will not be a code that just applies a blanket discount. Just because you have a reservation, it does not guarantee you a discount. Its not first come first serve either.

Imagine they have two buckets. They take out from one bucket the rooms that are extra. These rooms come from resorts that have extra availability. It may only be certain dates or even certain types of room. They move those rooms to a new bucket. When a discount comes out, you can only take from that new bucket. Once gone, its gone.

Now say the EXACT type of room/dates/room type gets shifted into the new bucket, you can adjust/modify your reservation to apply the discount but only if that is an option. Many end up rebooking and canceling an old reservation.

IMO there isn't much advantage of prebooking except guaranteeing you get the resort and room type you want incase it sells out. In no way does it give you an advantage towards a discount.

For you, if you have a modify button, when the discount comes out you can attempt to modify and see if savings is available. You could also call to see if the dates/resort rooms line up with any available discounts.

Good luck! I hope this helped and you can find some savings.

I'm guessing it could be like the free dining was this year, where the moderate resorts had quick service dining associated.

Unfortunately drock may be right. And while this may benefit your specific situation it will make this deal significantly worse for the vast majority of people (and depending on how they do it make the room only discount the better option for most). All of this is speculation of course.

IF things remain as they have been in the past then no you cannot do stay play dine at a moderate with a quick service plan.

Ok thanks for answering! I'm just trying to figure out what to expect with both scenarios.
