My mom and I are going to Disney World in January for my 21st birthday and we are trying to decide on what DVC resort to stay at. We will be renting points and staying in a studio wherever we stay. Cost is not really important because all the ones we are looking at are about the same price. We are choosing between:
  • Boulder Ridge Villas
  • Copper Creek Villas
  • Bay Lake Tower
We were wondering if anyone had any suggestions. We have only stayed at one DVC villa (Old Key West) and loved it. We have never stayed at either of these resorts before but have eaten at both many times. Our dates are January 22-26 2018

OKW is the only resort with 2 real beds in a studio, so if you don't mind a pull out sofa bed I would try BLT, CCR then BR in that order. I would also add the Poly to your list. Jan can be hard to get with the marathons going on and MLK break. Good luck and have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Copper Creek will be hard to rent until the 7 month window and then studio availability may be a challenge since so few are declared for points bookings.

BLT studios are really small. Best for two adults with maybe one child. But you can walk to the MK from there.

The BLT studios and the new Copper Creek studios are small, in the 340 sq ft range. BRV is in the 360 range, as are BCV, BWV, AKV (other than value). OKW is about 380.

If it is just the two of you, I would suggest CCV despite being small simply because everything is going to look new. not just the new rooms but much of the resort, such as pools, is being redone. If more than two, I would choose BRV or even BWV. Note, you mention that BRV, CCV and BLT are about the same price. That is only true if for BLT you mean standard view, since lake and theme park view are more expensive. Be aware that you may find it quite difficult to get BLT standard view if you have to wait until 7 months out to get it.
