We are traveling the week after the MLK holiday. I am expecting this to be a pretty flat time at WDW. Do you think we'll find discounts of any kind? What has been the history in previous Januarys? TIA

I'm new to the boards, but would be very interested in hearing any information on this as well. We're planning on taking our first family trip to WDW that same week.

On 11/1/05 a code came out that gave free park hoppers and the Water Park Fun & More tickets free with the MYW Package...a small room discount was also included. For us 2 adults & 1 child for 8 nights we saved around $250. So keep your eyes and ears open in late Oct & early Nov!!

If you are a AAA member, there will probably be discounts to members. These are usually released sometime in August.

LizAgna, do you know if you could add that code to your package if you've already booked? I want to book my package as soon as AAA releases their stuff, but would love to get free park hopping!

Free hoppers and a room discount would make set me to dancing! :dance3:

we have ressie already for Jan 2007/rooms only, and plan on booking a package when they come out, my question is the packages will probably come out next month, if discounts are offered in Oct/Nov can we still qualify for this? I really hope so cause anything will help, with a party of 9!!

Some of the discounts for 2006 were by postcard/e-mail only. We went the end of January and were only able to use the AAA discounted rate on our room because I had already bought our tickets so we didn't need the package deal and I never received a postcard or e-mail for and additional room discount.

My friend did use the package deal and it gave her the extras (like DQ and TL) for free but it wasn't a big savings like we were hoping (say like FREE DINING!!)

Good luck and I hope you all get a great deal!!

DH and I went at that time this year. It was PACKED!!! I couldn't believe it! We were well after the holiday and the crowds were as bad as they were when we went in June. I couldn't believe the lines and just trying to walk around was hard. We were there when EE opened for AP holders so I think that threw everything way off.

It was awesome though!! Very cool at night so come prepared for everything. We never got to swim.

We were there in January as well. We did a IOA/US trip (got a great deal on that trip) and squeezed in one day at MK. Yep, that was a crowded day (it was an EMH morning, I believe). I remember being surprised at the crowds for that day. Here's hoping for good deals and small crowds :wizard:
