January AP Rate-POP Full?

We will be going to WDW the weekend of January 21st for a quick 2-night trip. We called two different reservations agents (through the toll-free and the toll Disney reservation lines) and they both said they had NO standard rooms available with the AP rate for the POP (they did have preferred rooms for $61).

That's OK--we love POP but we went ahead and booked All Star Movies for the $49 AP rate. We were just surprised they didn't have any POP rooms and wondered if they are all booked, or if they somehow haven't released the rooms yet. Anybody know??

They probably just ran out of rooms at the AP rate at POP for the nights you requested.

That doesn't mean there are no rooms at the inn. It just means that there are no rooms at the inn on the nights you requested at the special rate you requested.

I don't know how many rooms at each resort Disney makes sets aside for AP rates, but I don't think it's more than 10%-15% of the total rooms, which at Pop would be somewhere in the neighborhoood of 100 rooms. And who knows, maybe they didn't set as many aside for AP rates in January for some reason.

As soon as I got the e-mail about AP rates for Jan and Feb, I booked our room. There were only a select # of weekends available at AP rate. So I'm sure the more popular resorts filled up fast for those weekends. We're going 2 different weekends.
