January Alamo question

I've got a great rate with Alamo, but I can't figure out how to prepay it. As an old lady with a cane, I'd sure like to skip the rental counter and go straight to the garage! Got any advice for me?

It depends on the rate or offer you select. There is a lot of information about this option on the Alamo web site.

Other alternatives to the counter: check in online or use the kiosk at the airport.

If you have many coupon codes, you can't use online check-in, from what I've experienced (or Priceline). But you can still use the kiosk - I definitely recommend that.

Depends totally on the coupon. All Alamo coupons and rate codes can be used for online checkin.
Priceline and hotwire etc. need to go to the counter or kiosk.

Just wanted to confirm that the Alamo insiders coupon code I used prevented online check in (I got all excited after the last post but it didn't work!).

Here's what it says on the Alamo site:

Online Check-In is not available with reservations that contain the following:

Reservation is more than 30 days in duration.
Reservation is "On Request".
Additional equipment such as child seat/toddler seat/infant seat or ski racks, etc. Rentals requiring additional
equipment must go to the rental counter.
Coupon (including ecoupons) used with reservation.
Voucher used with reservation.
Applicant Business Account Number used with reservation.
Central Bill Number used with reservation.

As I said, I just used an Insiders offer that Alamo e-mailed out - nothing too fancy there, but it would not allow online check in. Guess we will do the kiosk as planned.

That is weird Vicki as I just processed about 5 with alamo coupons in the reservation. I am sorry it did not work for you, but, the kiosks are rarely used, so, it should be a quick check in for you.

Who knows - maybe we are special? No big deal, we have used the kiosk before. But it clearly came back with a message that said "your reservation is not eligible for online check-in."

I believe you, maybe they are just bringing the online confirmation to the booth, all I know is I do a lot of them with the Insider coupons. We can do the online confirmation too. Both forms look alike and I don't ask for anything but their license and credit card.

I just tried to check in on line and got the same message as Vicki_C. Guess I'll be using the kiosk. Now, is that downstairs inside by the counter or upstairs by the booth at the cars?

It was right by the check-in counter last time we used it, I assume it's still there.

They are inside by the counter. The cars, btw, are on the first floor of the garage on both A and B side.
