January 8, 2011 - 7 Night Western Caribbean Sailing

It's called Downey wrinkle release. I actually have a bottle right now. You can get it at almost any store that has laundry detergent. I would say as long as you don't have really harsh wrinkles it's great but if you forgot and left your laundry in the dryer :rolleyes1 , it seems to take a bit of work which I find easier for my iron. I also find that rolling my cloths into a cylinder shape ( kind of like a jelly roll or roulade) , keeps the wrinkles down and you can pack a lot more.

As someone who loves camping, I can vouch that that's a great way to pack! :)

I got my travel docs and luggage tags! :cool1:

I can't wait to see you all in person! :grouphug:

I picked up some of this today at Walmart..thanks for the reminder!! Has anyone else noticed that Walmart is really going downhill?..not that I expect a Nordstom's experience..(which I kind of don't even expect at Nordstom's anymore)..but they used to have a few good things..we have a new store near me so I went today....unimpressed...but I did get the Downey!,THe funny thing is I am not that particular about wrinkles!!..but seemed a good idea..

I don't want to work this morning, lol, so am compelled to reply to some of the postings.

I never heard of the Bar Hop. Not that I'm even a drinker, I had one delicious chocolate tasting (but clear!) martini in the piano lounge one cruise and I was 3 sheets to the wind one-third of the way through that single drink. Trust me, you do not want to hear me sing.....

Walmart is where I'll go for plastic totes, not much else. Scary people frequent Walmart at two of the four locations within easy driving distance from me. I'm a Target girl myself.

I love attending the Art Auctions although I never buy anything (too cheap, I just know I can find it elsewhere cheaper, lol). I just like the atmosphere.

If anyone wants to get together to do Pancho's Backyard as a group, we're happy to do so!

I updated the list on the first page of this thread this morning but I still need cabin assignments for the following:

GRASSHOPPER
MOONVXN

You two are in the FE, so it's important that we have your cabin number. If you haven't yet been assigned, let me know so I don't think you're ignoring me.:snooty:

And also:

GINKYBILOBA
TERRAMEI

You can most easily contact me at my email: cmclaura@aol.com

Thanks!

DH and I are doing some sort of tour (can't remember but not going to the main land) in Cozumel but we love ethnic food and I bet I could talk him into lunch some place. I also want to know where you get your vanilla and if they have the vanilla beans too. I love baking/cooking and would love to have some real vanilla that doesn't cost a fortune.

We get our vanilla there, too. Pancho's is at the back of a complex of what looks like different sections of one store, or a complex of little shops that share space and they have the bottles of vanilla (good sized, one has lasted us all year) and I'm pretty sure they also have the vanilla beans. I can't remember what we paid but it was pretty reasonable and the taste is extraordinary. When we got home with it, I tossed out my old bottle of McCormick's vanilla, the flavor difference was that great.

So, it's a very convenient place! We really liked the food and the atmosphere was unbeatable. We'd tried another place along the street and it was just icky so I didn't want to sit down, let alone eat there. But Pancho's was really nice.

You get something from the shopping person on the ship for discounts in Cozumel and there was something for Pancho's; kids had to play marimba with the band and you'd get a little toy/souvenir thing. My daughter was so shy to do it but did and now she wants to do it again!

I wasn't at work on Friday, so I basically want to kill myself today. Darn you, Monday!
Is the cruise here yet?!?!?!

I am down with that although not too early as I want to enjoy the park first.....not sure how late is too late tho....

Does anyone plan on going to the Art Auction? I've heard that items are cheaper but delivery times are a headache...

There are many posts on the main board if you search back complaining about the company that runs the auctions. There are complaints filed online as well since they run them for other cruise lines as well.

I don't want to work this morning, lol, ....

For what's it worth, I'm retiring on the 31st, so just going into the office is hard. The good news is that my boss finally realized there isn't much value in having me work on anything since I'll be gone before I can finish. So today I spent time talking to DVC and DCL about our ground transfers, checking out of various departments, and getting my retirement documents in order.

Last week I attended a Luxury Travel Expo and was talking to various cruise line reps, including Disney. It was exactly 1 month before we sail...needless to say, I was really thinking about our cruise that day.

We're doing kayaking until about 1.30, but if time allows maybe we'll make it to Panchos. I'm always on the lookout for good authentic ethnic food.

I love authentic Mexican food! I`ll ask DW if this is possible for us! But we have to meet some friends that day who are on another cruise ship in port on the same day! How cool is that!

We leave in about 12 hours - bags are packed, house is empty of food etc so we have to go to Mum's for dinner!

My only tasks left to do are measure my husband for his cruise suit and figure out how to print out KSC tickets as my printer has run out of ink because I have been doing so much printing today!

I will have to at some stage buy a couple of dresses for the cruise but i will that over there - just hunting for winter clothes for the last few days has almost killed me - it is about 95 degrees here so finding jeans is almost impossible!

See you all on board.

Safe trip Sandie!

O.k., am I the only freak who has started packing yet? Since I am packing for all 4 of us, I figured I'd better get a head start. And yes, in theory, my husband should be able to pack his own suitcase, but we've tried that before with disasterous results. :rolleyes1

My daughter's suitcase is nearly done (although I realize she has outgrown most of her dresses so I will need to pick up a couple more). I will get started on my son's suitcase this weekend.

Is anyone bringing their own lifejackets for their children? I assume the excursions we have booked (Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel thru DCL, and Sting Ray Bay with Captain Marvin's) will provide them? They take up a fair amount of room so I would rather leave them at home.

I am really counting on that Key West port of call to pick up anything we forget!

:confused3DW is all freakin' out about how to dress the boys (DS6 & DS4) for dinner?!? Do we need to bring jackets for them or will polos/button down shirts and pants be sufficient?!?:confused3

25 Days til da' Boat Leaves!!:cool1:

My Ds 4 will be in short sleeve button downs with docker type pants dress shoes and on Formal and semi formal will be in long sleeve button down with tie. I think jackets are a bit much for the little ones and only Palo requires them. I do think that shorts and t-shirts aren't acceptable but that is my opinion.:confused3 So I'm thinking what you mentioned is perfectly fine.

This is totally our house and I have kind of started packing. I made DH go out and get our snorkel equipment and put it and the binoculars in a bag

I realized that my DS had grown out of his summer cloths so I decided to make him some. They turned out good for an novice. His is ready to pack as soon as I get free moment. I also got a couple of dresses for DD sewn together today.

I will be packing mine and DS's maybe DD's too. I don't swim but do like to snorkel so I need mine and even though DS is a good swimmer at the Y he will need the vest at CC and probably the turtle farm on Grand Cayman.
