January 6, 2008- The 4-night Wonder!

Bad news first...unfortunately, we will no longer be joining all of you on this cruise. And now the good news...we are expecting our first baby! I will be 24 1/2 weeks at the start of this cruise and as you probably know, they won't let me cruise from 24 weeks on. So...DH and I decided that since the cruise is paid for we rescheduled for October 2008. So, it will be our first cruise with anyone other than ourselves! We can't wait!!!

well CONGRATS!! That is about the only thing that could keep me from a Disney Cruise. Let us know when you find out if it is a Minni or a Mickey....LOL
We may see you in October. Thats about the time frame we are going to book for our 3rd cruise.

I like your countdown you have posted. It makes me both excited and in a panic. I am such a planner it makes me feel like I am running out of time to plan :scared:

Congratulations on your pregnancy! We will miss you...glad you can reschedule for later.

For those who have cruised before:

What kind of clothes do I need to bring? I have been on other cruises but this is my first time on the Disney Cruise Line...and from reading it sounds like it is more casual than other ships. How dressy can you dress up? Also should I bring costumes for my kids to wear?

1987 The Big Red Boat and WDW (Land and Sea) :smickey:
Disneyland weekly :tinker:

Baby's passport came in 3 weeks! Well before the 75 day deadline. All that worry for nothing. Now since we just moved to a new house, the fire box with all the other passports is somewhere buried in my pile of boxes in the garage! We have just 60 days to find the box!

I was worried we would get pregnant and miss the last cruise, but I did some math and #7 instead was almost a cruise souvenir instead. Congrats on the new baby!

Clothes on the first night: there is a "semi formal night", but you see everything from nothing dressy to very dressy, just depends on what you want. Definitely bring costumes, especially pirate night and if you want the kids to dress up like a character for character visits/photos in the mail lobby.

No excursions for us. My sis did the swim with the rays in Nassau on our first cruise, and 4 members of our group did a tour in Cozumel. I was unimpressed with Nassau without a tour, so I went back on the ship. It was very hard to expect myself to get off the ship on the VERY FIRST MORNING! I would more prefer a first day at sea or late arrival like the 7 night western to Key West, to give me my own time to explore the ship before having to leave! I'd actually love to just stay on the ship and just leave for CC and that's it! But my dad sent me an article talking about hidden treasures and things to do in Nassau, to not dismiss it, so I have to read the article and then I'll decide if I want to leave the ship.

I think our hopes for a military discount are fading. They're almost a sure thing during the time we're going, but the websites are offering military discounts for 3 and 7 night cruises well into January, but nothing for 4 night cruises the whole month! Oh well. It would have been nice to upgrade or get a discount, but we'll take what we can get. We're on the ship, that's what counts!

I too need to find where I put our passports. The mailman actually lost our kids passports and birth certificates. They were missing for 3 weeks! That was kind of scary, but I am glad they got found. They were accidently delivered to someone else in my city. Now I cleaned and put them somewhere safe...and can't remember where that safe place is.

Thanks for the tips on clothes. I am kind of wondering what the weather will be like in Jan. too. Cold or warm clothes or a combination of both. Also wondering if it going to be too cold to swim in the ocean. Has anyone else gone to Bahamas or Castaway Cay in Jan??

oh no!!! i hope you find them!! at least theyre safe.. somewhere:goodvibes
im sure you will find them

i was wondering if anyone could explain fish extenders to me?? i'm confuzzled:thumbsup2

do many people dress up "hard-out" for pirate night?? Because i have a pirate costume I made for the first Pirates of the Caribbean 3 showing (at midnight, yes i'm a bit of a fan :) ) and i was thinking of wearing that, but would i look out of place in full pirate gear??

wow it isn't long now :cool1:

our kids are going all out for pirate night. they are all dressing up in halloween pirate costumes. by the way, they are 15, 16, 17, 17, 19 & 21 years old. We are our own pirates crew!!pirate:

Some of my family wore pirate t shirts, DH had a fake beard and pirate on his shoulder. It all depends on what you want to do. We've seen everything from full-blown costumes to nothing out of hte ordinary.

Fish extenders are those Fish things that hang next to the stateroom door. you can hook stuff over them. Try to do a search on fish extenders in this forum and I know they have threads with photos. Once you see it, it will make sense.

So now we don't need passports until summer? UGH! Can I get a refund? We didn't even need to rush to get the baby's done, but it sure came quickly. We were told the ones in July would take until October 11th. Not only did they arrive in about 6 weeks, but we applied for the baby's in mid September, and IT arrived before October 11th! Good thing i didn't panic and spend the expedited fee!

We just moved to a new house, and I'm still unpacking boxes but also trying to switch out summer and winter clothes. We are putting all the summer clothes in one or two bins, not even separating it out with the family, because I'll just be pulling it out in a few days to pack for the cruise! Hooray! 46 days until we leave!

Yeah!!!! New friends to meet! I am so excited to know that you all are going to be on this boat too.

Our family is having a reunion of sorts on the 1/6 Wonder cruise. Our party will be Me and DH, our DD age 6.. its our 2nd cruise. My Mom in Law, Sis and Hubby in law and their DD age 11 will be joining us.

It is 40 days from today.... i am going to start ironing soon.

I am getting so excited!! It's getting so close. Is anyone else also going to WDW before or after? :mickeyjum

Just wondering what the weather will be like? Florida, Nassau, and Castaway Cay.

Should I be packing shorts and short sleeve shirts or warmer? Also, is it going to be too cold to swim?

For pirate night: My daughter has the Halloween costume Elizabeth Swann and I am going to try to borrow Captain Jack from someone who wore it for Halloween. DH and I just got some shirts from Disney Shopping.com that have pirates on them that I think we will wear. pirate:

im really excited too

Our family is going to WDW before, we arrive in Florida on the 30th so we will be there for New Years too :cool1: is anyone else going early??

One month today we leave for Florida!!:cool1: I hope the weather is good for our drive down. We are in the midst of a major snow storm. Freezing rain, tons of snow and most of it is blowing around making driving very tricky.:scared:
Cant wait to hear the WONDERS horn....

one month today we will be boarding the WONDER.:cool1:

My family is joining the cruise. My daughter is 10, and she wondered if there are any girls cruising her age that she could be pen pals with before the cruise. She did that before our last cruise, and it made it more fun for her.

Any of you have a girl her age?

Thanks,
Carrie
