For veteran DCL travellers- is Palo worth it? The reason why I am asking is because my husband and I love to eat so we go out to 5 star restaurants on a regular basis. Since we are travelling with our 3 year old son, we thought for this cruise we would skip the "adult only dinner" and use that money for excursions or souvenirs instead. Thoughts? We do have our inl aws coming who could babysit, so it wouldn't be an issue of childcare. Tx!

PS) What is the food on Pirate night? How do people already know what we will be eating one night to the next? LOL

Each restaurant has a signature menu, and there are 2 menus that all will have. It is my hubby who does not like Pirate Night's menu, but I do not remember why he does not like it.

Since you enjoy special dining, and have grandparents to baby sit, we are grandparents, I suggest you try it.

I think Palo is definitely worth it. not just for the food (which is wonderful), but for the atmosphere as well! And for the price per person, it's a deal! My son and I don't dress up for pirate night anymore... LOL after the 7th one or so I didn't even wear my pirate T-shirt ;) but lots of people do and it's fun to see. :) If you don't have a FE ... A nice little tote will do, check Pinterest for ideas.

Great!:thumbsup2

Another meet that sometimes happens is a get together to trade pins. There is always CM pin trading time, but this would be in a lounge, could happen just after the ship leaves port, or in AM on sea day. It is hard to schedule because there is a lot going on, but it is very informal and fun. Some cruisers have incredible pin collections.

Sign ups are still going on, we would be happy for more participants! We use FE to give candy of local or regional interest.

The word about pin trading on the cruise forum is that Disney curtails it due to flu season. So, if there is interest in a DisMeet for pin trading, we can set up a time and those who can come, participate.

I am interested in the candy exchange (we are coming from the buckeye state!) and fish extenders!!!

Great! I am organizing the candy exchange. PM when you can with your cabin assignment, and how many are in your cabin, and if there are any allergies! We are also from Ohio, and have decided on a Cincinnati treat!:goodvibes

Does anyone know which night is pirate night - it's listed twice so I am confused!

Some on the cruise forum have mentioned that it has been listed like this for some Wonder and Magic cruises.:confused3

We use FE's to give candy of regional or local interest. We also include a bit of info about the candy. Sign ups through Dec 22. I will keep groups small so no one gets a sugar overload!

If there is a meet scheduled, we could meet each other in person, that is not required.

Also if anyone wants to meet to exchange pins mention it here, we could try to find a time.

If you have any questions, ask away...either here or on the Cruise Line forum. How did you decide that DCL would be your first cruise line?

Welcome Cheryl and family!
You will LOVE disney cruises. My son is college age also. I know they have some group activities for that age but they don't have a " spot" where they hang exclusively. My son is excited to be able to eat at PALO finally LOL. (If you haven't booked PALO, do it, it's soooooo worth the up charge!)
Happy sailing!

Hey everyone. How does everyone feel about meeting at 2:30 briefly on day of arrival? We can reconnect as the days go on but it would be good to see faces on the first day and I've attended meets ups at that time before? Most of us have boarded by then and it is before the drill and spa raffle. We could also do it right after the drill, but so much is going on then as far as setting sail and unpacking ?

Thoughts?

:thumbsup2OK...my vote is for the earlier time.

Some of us have GTY bookings and it would be a good time to be sure our cabin numbers are correct for the exchanges. I will keep the CE cabins updated as I get them.:goodvibes

Hello all,

This will be our first cruise and we would love to join the candy exchange. We are from the UK so will be great to experience lots of new candies (or sweets as we call them here!)

Thanks

When you are up to 10 posts, you can send me a private message with your cabin number, how many in your room, and if there are any allergies.

To get to 10 posts in a fairly easy way, you can go to the games forum, and play some of the easy games, Countdown, Change one letter, or just be active here! You can even have just one word posts. Looking forward to meeting you!
