January 4, 2014 Fantasy, Trust, and Pixie Dust!

We are on this cruise! We will be flying in on the 31st and spending two nights at the Art of Animation--Lion King Suite. We will be going to Magic Kingdom for New Year's Day. Then off to a hotel at Port Canaveral so that we can go to the Kennedy Space Centre. Then onto the cruise! We will be in cabin 5518, category 8A.
It will be me, DH, DS(11), and DD(8). This will be our 4th Disney cruise. We have been on the Magic and the Dream before.

I will definitely be decorating my door again, and this time, I think I will do the FE!

:wave2: Welcome, Janet. We are also planning on flying in Dec. 31st and hit MK, Epot and Universal. The Art of Animation suites look great! Are they open for booking? Will have to get my TA on that after the first! Bonnie

I hear the 31st is the busiest day of the year. What have you all heard?

Do you mean flying or going to the parks? We're flying in on the 31st and spending New Year's Eve at the hotel. Not hitting the parks until the 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I'm sure whichever park we choose will be packed on New Year's Day...but we have no other options.

Going to the parks. Early NYD was really great at DL. Minimal crowds. NYE at DL was fun but a crowded nightmare. I have no first hand experience at WDW. Just researched it recently in regards to NYE.

We are doing the same. Flying in NYE and then going to MK on the 1st. I've heard that the parks are super crazy NYE. For NY day, if we get there early, we should be okay. We've done MK twice before so we're really only going again to see the new fantasyland. Once we do that we can leave if it's too busy. The rest of our time will be spent at downtown disney since we've already done all the other parks. I would love to go back to Epcot, but that'll have to wait for another trip.

We just booked the Art of Animation Nemo suite with Deluxe Dining Plan! We'll probably do Universal on the 1st (want to see the Harry Potter's World), then MK, then Epot.

Does anyone know if there would be any New Year's celebration at Downtown Disney? We're flying in late that afternoon and would like to do something that evening, saving the parks for the next 3 days.

Happy New Year to All! :yay: Bonnie

Happy New Year everybody! We are officially 1 year and 3 days away from embarkation!!! For many of us we are already at 1 year until this vacation!!!! I'm thinking of flying in on the 31st now. I keep adding days to the trip, lol!!!

Hey Everyone, and welcome to all the new people!

Sorry I have been MIA recently :-) WORK WORK WORK...and a little bit of Disneyland mixed in!

still so excited for this trip, I am going to start looking at WDW hotels etc. now. Less than a year away sounds so much better than more than a year away!

I spent last night experimenting with FE gifts and I had so much fun.... Spending today at a NorCal pin trading event to sell some custom shadow boxes I make for Disney pins... Then I'm goin to hobby lobby to get more supplies for the FE gifts. I figure I will do one craft a month for the cruise... By the time the date comes around, my door the gifts and everything will be perfect! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

How many of each are you making? I'd like to get started but have no idea how many gifts to make. Plus I have waaaay too many ideas floating in my head!

Well so far I have enough for probably 10 staterooms. I really just wanted to see how these were going to work. They came out really cute! Good thing is they are easy to recreate so when we do get the final count I will be able to mass produce :-) next month I will be working on my door decorations! I am planning on making cricut designs.
