January 4, 2007 Wonder

ARe there forms we have to complete yet? I vaguely remember being sent some forms, but i don't know why.

Do i have to sign medical forms for DS's food allergies? They are not anaphylactic allergies, just discomfort kind. And his ped won't acknowlege them, so i don't know the point of getting a doctor note.

Help!

Hey greenacres, how is wheat planting in LA? What crops do you raise? Corn and soybeans here, a little wheat in our area, but we don't raise any. Also raise seed corn.

Treesy, have you done all the online registration stuff, passport number, credit card info, etc.? I'm not sure if you need to fill out a medical form or not. We do for our DD, her food allergies are life-threatening, but if it is something minor, ???

We too are counting down the days!

We are coming into OKW on the 30th! And return to BWV after the cruise for a night.

FYI - we also have a 9 year old DD!

Awaldo...wheat's in the ground finally. Mostly we grow cotton but also some soybeans and corn. Once in a while we plant milo. We also offer custom spraying and harvesting to other farms. Now that all is settled on the farm we are ready for vacation. Oh, and Christmas, too.

We had a little kink in the plans today. Airtran decided to change the time that our flight was arriving in Orlando. So instead of arriving on Jan 4 at 10:26 it was bumped up to 11:30. I know it's only an hour, but it was already later than I wanted to arrive.

So.... we rescheduled our flight for January 3rd leaving at 5:30 and arriving at 10:44PM. I had already booked the Disney bus to Port Canaveral so now I have to decide do we still use the bus or get the rental car? Do we stay at the airport/near the airport or where? pirate: And if we use the Disney bus how do we get to and from the hotel? Does anyone know how early the busses start leaving the airport for Port Canaveral?

Oh well, I guess it will be all worth it in the end.

I hate when the airlines screw up all the good planning you've done. Mom hasn't said anything about any changes with ours yet, so I am hoping everything is as planned. We inevitably get some glitch....

Hi there

We'll be joining the Disney Wonder, as you're leaving and we were just wondering if anyone has received their documents yet.

We're all on 'Document Watch' at the moment, and I've noticed that the Jan 6th Disney Magic thread have started to received their docs

I hope you have a fantastic Cruise

Mandy :)

Dallas,

Prior to the airport hotel being open, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express just off the airport grounds several times. They run a shuttle bus that will pick you up at the airport and return you to the airport in the morning to catch the DCL bus. Or if you want a car, the Holiday Inn Express is a short distance from the rental car area.

With the opening of the airport hotel we would probably stay at the airport and catch the DCL bus the next morning.

Call DCL and they can tell you when the busses start running.

Regardless of what you choose, the most important thing is don't worry, relax and have fun.

Bill said we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, but the commercials must stick with him. We have never stayed in a Holiday Inn Express. We have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn (check online for rates) three different times. They will shuttle you from the airport to the hotel, then back to the airport the next morning.

Since then, they've build a really nice hotel (Hyatt, I think) in the airport itself. If I were arriving late night with kids, it would probably be worth the extra money to stay right in the airport and not have to shuttle back/forth to an off-site property.

DCL can definitely give you the hours for buses from the airport to the port. I would not want to mess with a rental car since there is no place to return it at Port Canaveral so you'd be stuck paying for parking at the port and paying the rental company for it to sit there.

If you booked through a travel agent, the document package may be delivered to the agent and not to your address. We've seen that in the past. We booked directly and got our package for 4-Jan quite a while ago.

That is excellent as we are Hilton Honors members. I just can't see spending $200+ dollars a night for the airport hotel since it is just DH and I. I agree though if we had the kids we would probably pay the extra.

We are getting so close I am about to burst!

The cruise is part of our girls' Christmas gift. They know we are going to Disney, but don't know about the cruise. :cool1:

Anyone have any creative ways to "unwrap" it? I'm thinking some type of scavenger hunt with different clues, but my brain has stopped at that.

I made a treasure hunt for my DD and DS where they will follow clues written in "pirate-speak"...each clue leads to some puzzle pieces and another clue. As they assemble the puzzle, it reveals, in a Christmas poem, the surprise gift of the family's Disney land and sea vacation. Since the expense of the vacation prohibits lots of gift buying, at least the treasure hunt will make Christmas morning fun and long-lasting (I hope). I also bought them pirate hats to wear on their treasure hunt.

I can't stand the waiting.....I'm SO excited!

I give her an idea and she up and makes it happen.

DW, Laura, aka "Julie your cruise director" for those who remember The Love Boat, contacted DCL about the possiblity of hosting a DIS meet and greet once we are onboard the Wonder.

The plans are not finalalized because we want to gauge interest from the group.

DCL indicates they can put together a gathering on Thursday afternoon before the safety drill and sail away party. This would allow everyone to meet early in the cruise. We'll cover the venue and snacks and everyone can be responsible for their own beverages. We'll make sure that all ages are welcome.

Any interest?

Let us know if you would show up and how many and we will see about finalizing the arrangements.

Thank you 4Boons for taking the initiative on planning the meet. :cheer2:

Please include myself (Lorrie) princess: and DH (Dave). pirate:

Once again thank you! :cool1:

Can't say for certain to plan on us...but I appreciate you taking the initiative. We're on the "by the seat of pants" schedule, we've found it works best for the age group we've got!
