January 4, 2007 Wonder

Dougherty's are leaving this afternoon from Missouri and will be driving overnight to WDW to staty at Saratoga and then the BCV. We are looking forward to meeting everyone! Everyone have a safe trip.

Hi All,

Well we let Tom know he was going on the cruise on Christmas Eve. I think he is still in shock. Anyway we are packing. My question...can you wear linnen in December, sounds like a silly question, I know. I think if it's not out of season down there that would literally cover it for me.

I don't think the rules about white shoes or linen after Labor Day are enforced anymore. If you want to wear linen in December (or January!), go for it! The weather in Nassau is in the 70s, so dress for it. See you soon!

Argggh! The northern crud has set in up here! For those of you unfamiliar, it is a crappy, snotty, coughy, cold that always seems to strike northern Indiana this time of year. Half of us have had it, the other half, now have it or are getting it. But, I guess,if I'm gonna have a cold, at least I'll have it where it is warm!!!!

Oh well I hope the medicine works quickly. I had my 13 year old at the docs today. Strep. Antibiotics and the Autotrain tomorrow. Wish me luck. I'm signing off as I will be at BWV 29th and 30th Comfort Stes. on the 31st and then at a friends for the 2nd and 3rd. See you all on the 4th...Yipee!!

We got to the airport this morning and our flight was canceled due to weather over and around the Dallas area.

In this part of the world they say that even when you die you will have to got through DFW.

Looks like we won't get to MCO and on our way to SSR until after midnight. That should make for a fun time at MGM in the morning.

Hope everyone is having fun and their travels are safe.

:scared1: good thing you've given yourselves lots of time! good luck with the rest of your travels!

I am so sorry to hear that. The weather here in DFW has been crazy the last 24 hours. We were under a tornado watch last night. :scared1:

Anyway hope you guys made it to MCO safe and sound. See you in a few days.:cloud9:

Hello everyone!!! Only a few days to go!!! I guess I better start packing! Does anyone know how the transfers work when staying at SSR? Our last cruise we were at BWV. I cannot wait all my dd2 talks about is going to the club and seeing her friends!

I don't know from SSR, but I asked when I booked the transfers and they said that I should just mention it to the desk when I check in and they would be able to tell me. However, my documents said that at BCV the bus arrives at 11:30am.

:dance3: three more days! the cup of skittles is almost gone :woohoo:

:tinker: This will be our first Disney Cruise. My 8 year old son is signed up for the Oceaneer's Lab. We've been looking online for tips and found this forum. My husband and I are just as excited as our son who kept saying, "Am I dreaming?" over and over when I told him we were going! It's going to be great!!

This was our first cruise. We loved it! High points include my son's experience with the Oceaneer's Lab. He won the Connect 4 Board game challenge and won a bucket hat, made flubber and cookies, made a lot of friends, and loved it all. Also, Castaway Cay was a lot of fun and beautiful. Incredibly perfect weather (the water was a little cool though, but it's January). The food was awesome. We loved the Pirate party and the FIREWORKS! Wow! what a cool surprise! We want to go again. 3 nights wasn't enough. I hope we can go on a 7 day cruise someday.

I am getting ready to do the three day cruise, what time did you have to be off the ship on the last day? Also should I take jackets or are sweatshirts okay?

I think we were one of the firsts to leave at 7:30 am. But that's because we had to be up at 5:45 to do immigration, and then we had the first sitting for breakfast at 6:45. By then we had everything packed, and just went to get our stuff after breakfast. I think that the last sitting is around 8:45, so everyone is expected to depart by 9:45.

And we brought light jackets and sweatshirts and it was so hot (85F at Castaway Cay), we didn't need it. However, even the Captain said that it was unusual for January.

Have fun, the trip was fantastic!
