Yup, I know it soooo far in the future! But wanted to find out if anyone was here yet from our cruise?

We'll have us and 5 kids, ages 21, 19, 16, 12 and 11. Any other kids those ages on our cruise?

:smooth:

we are also going that date, but will be on the Carnival Pride. Thank goodness I have a three day cruise in October to hold me over until then. I can hardly wait.

Bump. We can't have the WHOLE ship to ourselves, can we?

My husband and I will be on this cruise. We don't have any children, but we are not too far from the ages of your kids yourselves! (28 and 32). We cruised this time last year and it was FABULOUS. I can't wait to try the western itinerary. Congrats on your wedding!

Hi Lisa!

I'm glad to hear we won't be all alone! My oldest child is 28, but he won't be able to join us on this cruise. You all manage to get your own lives, don't you! :)

My girls and I cruised in January of 2000 and LOVED it! I was a widow and it was my first vacation alone. Altho I managed to find plenty to do as a single, I spent the whole time thinking that everything would be that much better with someone to share it with. Now I will have someone!!

When are you guys flying into Florida? If you are coming early, then you are the first invited guests to our wedding Saturday morning! :earsgirl: :earsboy:

As we get closer, we'll let everyone know where it will be.

Bump! Lisa, we are going to get incredible service on this cruise...we're still the only ones! :D

Sorry I haven't replied sooner! It's been a few days since i have had a chance to catch up on the boards. Whew! I just read the other thread about your wedding, how exciting for you!

I am not sure what our saturday morning plans are yet but I'm honored to be the first invites! I will let you know when we figure it out.

I can't wait til the cruise and I'm sure you can't either! Are you getting a bunch of rooms or are you getting the big suite?

Lisa

Hi Lisa

We got one Cat. 3 and two Cat. 10's. The difference in price on the kids cabins will be for all their excursions and extras. Shhh...they don't know that yet!

;)

That's the Western, right?
If so, that's the date hubby and I are leaning towards booking, but there was no non-adjoining secret porthole room available (of course, he is lobbying for a verandah, but we have something like 6 or 8 more booked that year so I am trying to be budgetary!). We're going to check out the prices/availability on board on our July 4th weekend cruise and maybe take the plunge...it's definitely going to be one of the two January 2003 Western dates. That itinerary is definitely worth repeating!

Barb!! You are coming to the wedding!! Shirley's going to marry us!

This is great...this cruise is going to be hopping if we get Barb on it!

FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!
We will aim for the 4th...it is our preferred date anyway because we have our annual anniversary cruise coming up on the Wonder in early Feb., so we want to space them out. CAN'T WAIT...it should be a great one!!

We were given the option of booking one of the non-adjoining secret porthole rooms and opted to keep our cat 10 on deck 7. We LOVED the location when we had an outside room over there so we figured why mess with success? We downgraded from our cat 6 because we just decided the $800 wasn't worth the difference for how much time we spent in our room last year. With one more day a port day, I suspect we will spend even LESS time in our room.

You guys are really getting me excited now, and the cruise seems so far away! We are celebrating my graduation after 3.5 loooooooong years getting my Master of Architecture degree!

Wow, a cat 3, how wonderful but this is a special occasion worthy of it!

Lisa...Congratulations!! I have a great deal of respect for anyone continuing their education. I know how tough it is once you have gone past that initial four years. My late husband had three Master Degrees...perennial student! :earseek:

I'm excited, too! I am getting such a kick out of seeing the kids get together every Sunday for dinner and talk about all the excursions they want to do, who gets what bed...even what they'll have for dinner!!

I wouldn't have done the Cat. 3 if it wasn't our honeymoon...but what the heck! I have done a Cat. 3 before, but this will be Ernie's first cruise...he deserves the royal treatment!

This degree has taken it all out of me (3 years of 16 hour days and 7 day weeks) so it's highly doubtful that I will be getting another degree after this one, although my parents are afraid that I will always be a student. I think the day I get a full time paying job, they will be shocked!

What excursions are you thinking about taking? When I first read about the western itinerary I wanted to do all sorts of excursions and now I am thinking of limiting it to just one or two... exploring key west on our own (I am also doing a master's cert. in historic preservation so of course I have to see some of the house museums there), I'm really not sure about cozumel, and I want to snorkel with the stingrays on grand cayman (I am just confused as to whether we should book this on our own or through DCL). I had really wanted to go to Xcaret in cozumel but it is sounding less and less worth it.

So much to plan and unfortunately so much time left to wait!
