January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

i am so disappointed that i just found this site today- would've liked to have participated in the fe, but there's always next time :). My husband and i will be traveling with my parents, our 2 sons ages 3 and 5, my brother, and my niece, age 3- she will be celebrating her fourth b-day on the ship. This is our first disney cruise and we are more than excited  We are flying into orlando on the 27th, so only 13 days- it will be here before we know it!!

welcome !!!!!

Welcome Aboard! Glad to have another family sailing with us...it is too bad that you found the group after the FE cutoff date, but you'll still have a blast! There is so much fun to be had on a DCL Cruise, and like you said, there's always next time.

It's also nice to have someone else from PA on board...I'm originally from Pittsburgh. I was worried that the cruise would fall over Super Bowl weekend, but then I saw that it will be the day after we get back, so if the Steelers make it I can watch at home. I would probably have passed on watching the game on board (regardless of who ends up playing) because I wouldn't want to make my wife a football widow on one of the first nights of the cruise.

welcome sonny75 my 6 year old grandson will be happy to have another boy around his age on the cruise, mostly girls on this meet! This is our 2nd disney cruise like you said always the next time, its so true as we are also booked on the dream this coming sept and well of course the fantasy in 2012 is gonna have to be on a do list! may even book while onboard for that one. we fly in on the 27th as well, where are you staying before the cruise? See ya real soon!:cool1:

...we are also booked on the dream this coming sept...

Hi boundfor!

We too are booked on the Dream in Sept. We'll be sailing on the 9/15, which is the 3-night that sails before the DVC Members Cruise. Is that the one you'll be sailing on by any chance?

My weakness too. I have a whole scrap book full of the characters with my dd and then big ones of us as a family.

The Castaway Cay pics are my favourite too because they get right up close and catch beautiful faces. My least favourite is the first one they take when you first board. We look pale and just weird. :lmao:

You can up grade your package at anytime. I usually have to do this. I think I started at the 149.00 and went up. You also can go down a package too.

Best part is you can exchange any picture out if you find a better one you like. I usually keep all my pictures together as best as possible becasuse they move them around to put new pictures up all the time. They don't like that but everyone does it. I saw on the dream now that they put all your photos together in folder type thing so you don't have to search for photos anymore. Because some times it is really hard to find yours.

All the family protraits are down in 8X10 , character are usually 6X8 , sometimes the characters are out, like on the pool deck they don't have photos taken at that time so make sure you keep your camera handy becasue you can take pictures then and even if they take a picture they give you time to take your own after, they will even take your picture for you with your camera if you want in the shot. This may save you some money if you have a good shot of the same thing. But they get you because they put cute boarders on them with the date etc.

It is pretty easy to spend that much (or more) at Picture People and then all of your shots are in one outfit!! And you have to get kids dressed and get them all to the mall.....

I plan on taking advantage of all of the photo opportunities since everyone will already BE dressed!!

Since my in-laws will be there and DH is planning on wearing his faniest uniform and this will probably be the last opportunity my in-laws have to see him in this uniform before we retire, we plan on doing lots of photos.

Does anyone know if they add the cute borders if you get the CD?

:welcome: It's just fine. We'll welcome you anyway!!! How exciting to have another family join the cruise group! Why don't you grab some green bracelets for your gang and then we'll know who you are. There is also a photobucket account that adventurewoman has organized that you may be still able to upload a picture of you and/or your family so we can recognize y'all! 15 more sleeps!!!!!!:woohoo:party:

So here's my weightloss update: there is none! lol. :lmao:

I have been working out religiously with Jillian and the kettlebell, plus my job is very physical, and I am good and sore. To date after 1 month since I last weighed myself I have lost exactly.....drum roll please.....NOTHING! :rotfl:. However, I am aware that I have lost inches. I know this because I tried on clothes for the cruise yesterday. 2 pairs of shorts fit. TWO!!!!!:scared1: So I guess I can say I've lost inches  (but have no weight loss to report.) My husband, God love him, also mentioned that my butt looked smaller. :yay::yay::yay: After 21 years they still make ya love them!!!!(and they learn what and what not to say)

I very seldom weigh myself. Actually - NEVER. When I was in the military, the weighed me twice a year for our fitness tests, I get weighed at the doctor, and during pregnancy - they weigh you all the time. I am pretty active and have run, lifted weights, and done tons of fitness programs for over 20 years. Weight can be misleading and how your clothes fit is a MUCH better indicator of your progress. Right now, my weight is actually down a little bit below my "normal" however, my clothes aren't fitting well because I haven't been working out much the past month so am a little flabby and larger in some places - my hips are a first indicator for me!! My step-mother is naturally incredibly thin, but in pretty poor shape physically. My real mother is slightly heavier but in INCREDIBLE shape physically (she is a certified body-pump instructor at age 65!!) I would much rather be "heavier" but in shape and fit!!!

I think you should be glad about how your clothes fit and know that you are healthy because of the workouts. Too much focus on the scale is not really healthy - just exercise 3-5 times a week, eat healthy, and don't worry about weighing yourslef:banana:

Great job - I would take losing inches over losing pounds any day

We are from central/east Michigan & have a 9 year old son (10 in July) that will be glad to hear another boy from his neck of the woods will be on the ship. Lets hope we all have good weather to get there! :wizard:

Cool! DS is really looking forward to the video games :rotfl:and swimming of all things...

I am SO with you. I lost alot of weight over the course of a year back in 2002. Since then I have come to learn what is important in life. AND ITS NOT how much you weigh. I've adopted a healthier lifestyle, including but not limited to working out regularly. I also revamped my life, went back to school, became more spiritual, and stopped sweating the small stuff. I feel like a new person :)

I felt I wanted to check in and let the people who were listed on weight loss train prior to the cruise, know where I was at. ;) I am so pleased with myself and with all of us :banana: and I enjoy the small hurdles as well as great big ones! It's wonderful to hear that someone else doesn't "beat them self up" anymore and one who realizes that thin is not necessarily always = to fit!!! GOOD FOR YOUR MAMA!!!! (It's also wonderful to have to buy new shorts in a size smaller!) :woohoo:

Have a great day.

We are a chatty group - I was looking at some of the Boards for the other cruises in January - what a difference.

1. January 3rd cruise - already done and is having After-Cruise chatting now - they are still only at 800 posts

2. Janaury 8th cruise - at Castaway Cay today and getting ready to come home - they are only at 819 posts

3. January 15th cruise - leaving tomorrow and should be very excited - they are only at 321 posts

4. January 22nd cruise - still another week away - they are at 1,578 posts

5. January 29th cruise - US!!!! - we are at almost 1,800 posts and will definately top 2,400 before we cruise!

Funny how cruises can be so different!
