January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

do you know how much Park and FLy is?

Not sure my husband takes care of all that stuff I just pack and go.

I know one year on there website they had a $5.00 coupon not sure if they still do.

We ended up deciding to drive as well. Are you guys taking 75 down? I think we're leaving Wed as soon as dh is done at work. I'm hoping we can basically drive straight through, but we'll see. I'm just hoping for little snow along the way!

Where are you from again?

My husband would have drove too only he has to work the next day after the cruise so it wasn't happening. We are not afraid of long trips , the kids are used to it.

I mentioned your dd to my son, he said he would talk to her before the trip if she wanted.

We're from West Michigan so it's going to be a LONG drive! DH and the kids are all for it, but I get carsick and don't really like driving so we'll see if we all make it there in one piece :rotfl2: Luckily we don't have to be back until Monday morning and it won't be tragic if we don't make it even then so, we should be okay.

I'll PM you dd's email address if your ds is interested in chatting before hand.

Yes, we're taking 75 down...I have 3 different hotel ressie's at the bottom of Georgia...all about an hr apart, so we'll see how far we can make it. I'm not worried about the 4yr old...it is the 9mth old that has me worried! I thought about driving straight through...but DH didn't much like that idea.

Where in W MI are you from?

Just outside Grand Rapids. I figure if we need to stop, it will just be for a few hours at the truck stop or rest area as DH is a die hard drive-straight-through driver. Me, I last about 2 hours or so. So, the plan is for him to drive while I sleep. Once he gets tired, I'll drive for a couple hours. He'll be fine by then and can continue driving while I get some more sleep :) We'll probably continue this pattern until we get there or one of my dear, sweet family members gets on my nerves enough for me to insist we stop overnight. I couldn't imagine doing the drive with little ones. My 2 will just read, listen to music, and sleep the whole way. They might bring a movie or play games on their ipods but shouldn't give us much trouble.

More family pics is my resolution for 2011! I think I can count on one hand the number of pictures I have of me with one of my kids... I keep thinking we'll do a nice family photo once I get all the baby weight off but that's just not happening.

You should do some on the boat. They have lifestyle ones you can do at different times. It is just a white background and they will do a few poses. I did one with my dd and then one with my hubby with my dd . Then did the same with my son. These are my favourite ones. The best thing is it doesn't cost you a thing to do them only if you buy them.:lmao: We did alot of these on different days, only problem with that is I liked them all and didn't know which ones to leave behind. These were not formal ones either.

Speaking of pictures, does anyone remember what they cost on the ship??? Just noticed that they sell "credit" packages for photos and wondering if it is worth it or not.

Pictures are my weakness. I alwyas buy the CD at the parks!!! I think I saw that you can get 5 "credits" for $89 which I think is 5 5x7 - you would use more credits for an 8x10 and fewer for a 4x6. I'll probably try and have pics taken of everything to justify buying the CD....:)

Me too!! Even though I say I am going to be strong as soon as I see that cute pic I just have to have it!!! So you think the credits are worth it then??

It's $89 for 10 credits
$149 for 20 and $199 FOR 30. 6X8 IS 1 Credit and 8x10 is 2.

I am so disappointed that I just found this site today- would've liked to have participated in the FE, but there's always next time :). My husband and I will be traveling with my parents, our 2 sons ages 3 and 5, my brother, and my niece, age 3- she will be celebrating her fourth b-day on the ship. This is our first Disney Cruise and we are more than excited  We are flying into Orlando on the 27th, so only 13 days- it will be here before we know it!!

My weakness too. I have a whole scrap book full of the characters with my dd and then big ones of us as a family.

The Castaway Cay pics are my favourite too because they get right up close and catch beautiful faces. My least favourite is the first one they take when you first board. We look pale and just weird. :lmao:

You can up grade your package at anytime. I usually have to do this. I think I started at the 149.00 and went up. You also can go down a package too.

Best part is you can exchange any picture out if you find a better one you like. I usually keep all my pictures together as best as possible becasuse they move them around to put new pictures up all the time. They don't like that but everyone does it. I saw on the dream now that they put all your photos together in folder type thing so you don't have to search for photos anymore. Because some times it is really hard to find yours.

All the family protraits are down in 8X10 , character are usually 6X8 , sometimes the characters are out, like on the pool deck they don't have photos taken at that time so make sure you keep your camera handy becasue you can take pictures then and even if they take a picture they give you time to take your own after, they will even take your picture for you with your camera if you want in the shot. This may save you some money if you have a good shot of the same thing. But they get you because they put cute boarders on them with the date etc.

We are from central/east Michigan & have a 9 year old son (10 in July) that will be glad to hear another boy from his neck of the woods will be on the ship. Lets hope we all have good weather to get there! :wizard:

welcome aboard - we are glad that you found us

i picked up 4 GREEN bracelets at Party Packagers tonight - I think they cost $2 total (LOL)......they are in the St Patricks Day Section.....but they are perfect to wear the first couple of days to distinguish us as a DIS Family.

I like the bracelet idea better than something around my neck as its a bit more discreet in photos or if we go swimming.

I am sure most Party Packagers carry them if anyone else is interested.

we were looking at our photos from 3 years ago - amazing how the kids have changed. We love the shots with the White Background. The photographers know how to set up good shots! I strongly recommend them for family photos.
