January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

I have all the stuff all over my livingroom ready to go in the baggies, I am going to get them this afternoon after I drop the kiddos off to school......free afternoon... :dance3:

I have a free afternoon today to....I work for a Bank so we have today off - while everyone else is at school or work !

WOO HOO

It is rare for me to be home by myself even for an hour! This is great - its so quiet!

CIBC...I remembered that...lol!!! Same here, well I wont be here alone my ds works for RBC and my other ds is still home from Uni but close enough....I am going shopping all afternoon.....all by myself :cool1:  :dance3: :cheer2:

So I have to tell you what we did for New Years Eve....went to a friends house with another family.

The hosts got Michael Jackson Experience for the Wii.....wow - what a great fun family game. The Dads were up there dancing to Bad, the Moms were up there dancing to Thriller, the kids were dancing to everything else.

The videos are hilarious.....we had to go and buy in yesterday. Its so much fun - a little addictive though. But I got it for Working Out. If you try and move like him to his fast dances, you can really work up a sweat. And its more fun then a workout machine!

Anyone else have it?

I have all my FE stuff in baggies as well....with the cabin #s with little notes. I was so excited to get them all done this weekend! NOW to just get the Christmas stuff taken care of...THEN I can start packing! :cool1:

I was telling DH I don't know how people that don't start packing until the last minute do it! I am WAY too type A to do that...I feel I'm behind and we have 3 1/2 weeks still! :rotfl:

They pay some too...they worked so saved!! They work when they come home in the summer.

Goofy is going to come home and commute for the week, he wants to stay home and commute next year, it is his last year. All his friends are done this year and he doesnt want to live with people he does not know...lol!!! So he said with the money saved from rent food and utities he can buy a car to get back and forth, so he is going to see how it works out the week we are away!!! Pluto is here but he works crazy hours at RBC.

I am envious of those who have their FE's ready already. I have just started! Hopefully will be doing a roadtrip to Grande Prairie on Saturday so I can rummage through Michaels for any last minute 'neato' items.

Today is my last day off before we head back to work/school. Sigh, I miss sleeping til after 8am!

Your household in 10 years will be crazy with grandchildren - i am so jealous....I love big families.

Guelph to Brampton - thats almost an hour isnt it?

I cant remember if I have said - but we kind of have 5 kids too. We have 2 of our own plus my 18 year old neice who has lived with us since she was 6. And 2 nephews who lived with us from about 11 to 18 but are now 24 and 25 so live away from home. So Kevin (the 25 year old) is coming to stay with Vanessa as she cant afford to miss any of her last year of high school. He will actually be much closer to his new job and i think my Better Half is hoping that he will decide to move back home again. We'll see how the 2 weeks goes!! He and I had a big falling out when he left as I caught him stealing from us when he was 17. We have all moved on as he has "grown up" and is now in a good job and doing well. I trust him enough to stay with Vanessa but I dont think i am ready for him to move in with us again. His girlfriend is a bit flaky but seems to be helping him to take responsibility. He has had a rough life as he never knew his Father and his Mother is a Druggie. She has always had a love/hate relationship with him......he spent most of his childhood going between his Mom and my Better Half. Then when we moved to Markham, he had to choose where to live full time and he chose us. His Mom threw so much guilt on him over it that he had a lot of trouble adjusting. He is a sweet kid that just wants to get by in life but his Mother causes nothign but trouble for him.

Oh well - sorry about that - that was a long rant! Kevin and Vanessa will have a great time with the parents "out of the way".....I am sure your kids will enjoy hanging out with the Big Brother too!

WOW The :disrocks:is very busy today. Again working on my FE stuff. DH is playing his Tiger Woods WII golf game he got and have not seen him in a day or so. :rotfl2: It is helping with his golf withdrawl that he goes through at this time of the year so I will let him be  He goes back to work today on afternoons and I go back tommorrow :sad1:

Great sunny day today :goodvibes

Disboards is busy today! My bet is on 1875 posts before the cruise :goodvibes

I am back at work today...woohoo!

Busy thread today.

Paddle nut did you see the wristbands? Someone on the thread I started said they indeed track exactly where your child is. Made me think of a prisoner anklet. :rotfl:

I am busy taking down the stuff in the rec room. I have been at it for hours. The kids are still off here until Thursday. They are laying around playing games and watching TV while I am working hard. I will relax again when this done.

Then I was thinking I put the Christmas stuff in the same closet as the suitcases. Better take them out so I don't have to hall everything out againt get to them. I usually don't need the suit one so that one gets buried.

Where did you find the pics of the wristbands?? My kids hate wearing the plastic ones you get at water parks for the day, so this might not go over well to strap something to them for a week. Plus DD gets horrible rashes - her skin reacts to everything. I am definately going to have to prepare everyone for this and need to see a pic so I know what to expect!!!

My FE gifts are all done!! And yes, I use the Ziploc per cabin method - and sort them by deck. Last cruise there were over 50 cabins participating - it was a lot of work but oh so much fun. Our DIS group was huge - someone even went to all the trouble of making us our own Mini Navigator. Really neat!!

Just a suggestion - if your cabin changes once you get to port (ie. you purchase an upgrade or maybe you get some pixie dust) and you are worried about letting us know, I will have a whiteboard on my cabin door. (7528). Feel free to leave a message to the group about the cabin change.

Just realized that DH has our big suitcase with him on business & I won't get it back until the Sunday before we leave :scared1:. How is a Type A person like myself supposed to pack?!! I may have to go buy a new one....

Christmas decorations have been taken down, kidlets are back at school and all is right in the world again... :laundy:

Cheers,
Lisa

HI there!!! Yes it is about 1 hr each way...that is why I am glad he is getting the chance to try it first...although lots of people drive that everyday to work , even more.

That is so nice of you guys to take in your niece and nephews, it takes good people to do that....they sure can be a handful when they are teens and when they arent yours (persay) it can be even harder. Hope all goes well for Kevin. You definately deserve a vacation for your goodness!:thumbsup2
