January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

That is so true. Lots of windmills. He actually is a nuclear operator at Darlington power plant. He keeps our lights , etc on:thumbsup2

We used to live up in Paisley( this is near Walkerton , everyone remembers the water thing) because he worked at the Bruce for many years until transfering down here.

And for our flight, Hubby is still working on that . It will probably be Friday but he doesn't know the flight back. Wonders if we can make it back to the airport and though security by 11:50am on Saturday.

Hey he's not Homer Simpson...is he? JUST KIDDING!!!!:lovestruc Sorry I couldnt resist....having all those sons I've learned to kid alot!!!!

I asked about the flight home and the lady said they recommend not to book anything before 12:30pm.

No worries...I was going to say that myself then deleted :lmao: We get asked all the time if he glows in the dark.

I know they say that but unless there is a huge problem with immigation that morning you can get to the airport pretty early if your off the ship at 9:00. My husband has go to work on the Sunday so we didn't want to get to late a flight home since it still is a hike to get home from Buffalo. We always use a town car to get to and from the ship so no waiting. At least we have been lucky so far that the driver is there waiting.

What service to you use? We are flying home late after the cruise so are going to spend the day at SeaWorld and thus are renting a car. Since I saved on the return from Port to the Airport, I am splurging for a limo on the way down. I have heard about Happy Limo and then found another company Southern Elegance - the price difference is $20 between the two. I know it is funny that we drop thousands on the cruise and then shop around for a $20 savings!!:rotfl: Anyway, just wondering if you have a service you have used!!!

We have always used Tiffany Towncar service and never had a problem. We were going to try a cheaper one last time but then heard bad things about them and went with what we know and liked because it wasn't that much of a difference. We use them there and back. Most hotels have shuttles to there hotels so we just need them to get too and from the port.

Last year we stayed an extra day before and after the boat. Spend way to much money to go into Magic Kingdom for one night but I wanted to see the lights on the castle since it was just before Christmas.

We would normally do Palos on a Parrot Cay night but that would mean the first night or the last night (cant skip Pirate Night). Not sure I like either option.

What rotation do you think is best?

Sorry, I think I missed this one. I just had to write down each rotation, add on the event nights, figure out when palo would work to not miss an event and then weigh the options. I think what is best depends on your priorities for the cruise. Our deciding factors were the character breakfast and not missing the event nights. HTH!

You ordered an FE from someone? How much did it cost? What does it look like?

I ordered my FE from JenGC on etsy, just had to search for fish extenders and she came up. She was great, responded quickly and created it very quickly. Can't wait to get it so I can post pics.

You can only request your rotation by contacting DCL and having this noted on your reservation. So, no promises, just requested.

WOW - 100 days until we sail! Tomorrow will be double digits! As for FE, my mom is making ours...I haven't decided yet on what I want it to look like! She is also on eBay - iluvdisney2008.

Thanks for the warm welcome!!!! I am so excited and overwhelmed!!! Look forward to going through all of this with you!!

I am flying out of Buffalo on Jan 28th( we are from Ontario) and still looking for somewhere to stay for the night.

Just getting educated about fish extenders, magnetic and all that stuff. I had no idea there was so much to know!!! Have not book a thing for the cruise yet and starting to worry about that too....YIKES!!

Vacations are suppose to be fun not stressfull. Don't try to do it all or you will be so tired after your vacation you will need another one...:lmao: It is not going to mess up your cruise if you don't get magnets done etc. Breath.

Most important part is done, your booked on the boat and your booked on a plane. Depending on how you are getting to the boat will help decide what hotel to book with. There are lots to chose from. We stayed at POR for one night before the cruise last time but we have stayed at other ones too that shuttle from the airport.

We love sea days that we don't have to run and can sleep in if we want.

We are in Mississauga. We are spending the night in Buffalo. We are flying Jet Blue on Fri the 28th at 8:48am. We are renting with Alamo too. Are you parking the car or turning it in??? Wonder if we got the same rate LOL We need to find somewhere to stay still as well. Just calling around today. Trying to decide if I should trust my luck with priceline or just book through the hotel. I wan to stay at the Country Inn and Suites.

My DH was born in Alexandria VA.

Really??? That is where we live. You hardly ever meet anyone from here - at least not that still lives here (and you don't still live here!) It seems to be a very transient place. Of course, there are lots of military and government employees here so maybe that is why!:woohoo:

I have the late dining but I didnt realize you picked your rotation?!:confused3I dont know one from the other so what are some preferences (SP?) When I was speaking to my cm she told me the nights, she thinks that is how it will be Formal night 2...Semi night 6...Pirate night 4....Casual 1 3 5 7...she didnt say anything about picking a rotation...Oh well I am sure I will get put in the rotation somewhere ....... :rotfl2:

The FAQ board says that the rotations that are available are:

7 day Eastern Cruises
LAPLAPL
APLAPLA
PLAPLAP

so depending on which restaurant you want to eat at each night, you can choose a rotation. Or just take whatever you get.

I dont like the first one as it has you at Lumieres on the first night - too formal for the first night for me. And I dont like the second one as it puts you in Parrot Cay for Formal night - so i will probably ask for the third rotation.

We live on the east mountain, Beamsville is not far away at all nice little town! We have stayed at the cbr a few times and really love it there, what moderates have you stayed at?Yes when we vacation the grandkids are always with us, last cruise took 2 of the older grandkids but Logun at that time didn t want to come. He has deceided to go this time around after hearing how much fun it was from his sister Tori who went in Nov. with us. Tori and my grandson Jordan loved the cruise and made many friends that they still keep in touch with ,Im sure Logun is gonna have just as much fun and will meet new friends as well.:cool1:

How many Grand Kids do you have? Do they all live close to you?

His band did TNT at their "gig" last Spring!! It is really pretty cute. The studio he takes from offers a"Putting the Band Together" workshop.
They have 2 age groups - 10-13 and 14 and up. They come up with their songs, rehearse, etc for about 8 weeks with a couple of guys who are in a band here in the DC area. Then they get a perfromance - last year at one of the local coffee shops which does a Friday night Happy Hour with music every month. Even though my son was only 7, he got selected for the younger kids band. It really is cute to see a bunch of kids with an average age of 10 on the drums, lead, bass and rythm guitar and vocals. This year they have added a kid who plays keyboard and the sax and they are doing "Bad to the Bone" and some Green Day song. My son is hoping to be the singer for Bad to the Bone!! It is also really good for the kids because it is entirely different playing in an atmosphere where people are talking and eating and drinking at tables around them versus a recital where everyone is sitting in rows quietly listening.

I have been really happy with the electric guitar mostly because my son loves it so he practices!:goodvibes

thats amazing. Spencer practices his guitar really well as well. We tried him on drums but I found I was fighting him all the time to practice which is NOT fun.

Does he play with school as well?
