JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

Have not done it personally, but it gets an 8 out of 10 rating from readers of Passporter.

QUOTE:
"Bum around the Playa del Sol Beach. Price includes taxi fare to and from the beach, admission, use of pool and beach, open bar (mixed drinks, beer, soda and juice), water toys, recreation, entertainment and lunch buffet. Typical meeting time is 10:30 am. Cruiser comments were mostly positive. The beach has a "family party atmosphere" with "lots to do," including "water trampolines" and "a climbing iceberg" (though these are "pretty far out in the water"). Keep in mind that while the drinks may be free, they are also "watered down." Lunch is "good" by most accounts, though you have to "contend with vendors" to get to the food area."

DW and I had a great time at the costume store tonight. It was lots of fun. Both outfits are actually mideval, but they will pass for the pirate theme nicely. Can't remember what night is Pirate night, but can't wait.

Also, the wine tasting sounds interesting. Do they do this on an at-sea day?

I think Pirate night is Cozumel day so that would be Wed. The wine tasting sounds good - my DH would enjoy but I am not big on wine - I prefer margaritas and mixed drinks myself!

As far as those DARN Bahamas form - can you belive that on the line where it asks where we boarded - I put Orlando on all of them and then realized my mistake.:sad2: I guess I will have to correct it or fill out new forms at the port. I really wasn't sure about the date either so I believe I left that one blank. AAAHHH - they really don't make those forms user friendly and if DCL would just put a little "how to" blurb in the paperwork it would sure save a lot of headaches for a lot of people!

The old Bahamas forms were MUCH easier. They used to even have a place you could "check" for DCL. Now they list a bunch of airlines instead! :scared1:

Cruisin canuck and speakupjc,
Sounds like we are all ready to cancel so lets just do it. We can figure out something else that we can all do together. I'll do some research this weekend and look at the alternatives. Yeah, wasn't too keen on bringing back any internal parasites (like the last time we went to Mexico!!).

1. No cruise docs yet!

2. I did the wine tasting in my last cruise. Overall, it was enjoyable but nothing I'm rushing to do again. However, there is a cool trick they do with a champagne bottle and a sabre.

Cruising canuck and speakupjc,
I have cancelled my Reef Club reservation - you have to do it by replying to the confirmation e-mail they sent you. I think we will go to Paradise Beach - entrance to the Beach is free - there are loungers and umbrellas. If you want to use kayaks, floats, etc there is a $9 wristband you can get that is good for the whole day. They serve food and drinks - not too expensive either - I read somewhere that they have the best guacamole & chips in Mexico.... Even factoring in the deposit money that I lost - it would still be cheaper than going to another club....
Check out the website (it was in my previous e-mail). By the way, it's run by a Canadian so it can't be all bad!!!
Hope Vanessa has a great birthday party!!

Cheers,

I cancelled my res. as well and we will come along to the new beach, the iceburg looks like fun and that could be a tramp in the water!

binky1,

You read my mind. DW and I were talking about going here. We originally wanted to do snorkling at Cozumel, but it sounds like the reefs are still in pretty bad shape from the last hurricane. So, I started looking for alternatives and Paradise Beach sounded great. About the only negative I have read is that the beach is rocky, so pool shoes or sneakers are in order while going in the water.

msaseifert,

We are not big wine drinkers as well...must be something about the cruise that makes everything sound exciting to me. Except for the Bahamas form, that just sounds scary. :scared1:

Binky and Cruising,

I am in the process of canceling the excursion to the Reef Club. I sent them an email indicating that I want to cancel and will go online when there is a rep there to inform that person of the same. We will go with you to Paradise Beach so please count us in.

It's a good thing we cancelled now as I read in the terms that if we had cancelled within the 2 week window that we would have been charged the full fare. Whew!! I think we will be much better off.

In two weeks we will be at our meet & greet. I can't wait to meet you all we are so excited to get this vacation under way!!

11 sleeps!!

You just have to check it regularly because sometimes we get notified and sometimes not. You do not need to resubscribe. It's an intermittent problem with the boards.

guys - you may find this amusing. This morning I had an email from the DisBoards saying there were 8 pages of replies to this thread. And each one was linked in their notice.

Ok so that makes me caught up in their eyes. I've been checking this thread everyday anyway, but not some of the others (just got an email notice about those also)

:rolleyes2 :joker: :rolleyes2

LOL DisGal520. I sometimes get 3 or even more notifications about a new post in this thread but its for the same post. Sometimes I get no notices at all, some i get soon after posted. Definitely a glitch in the server system on notifications.

But like you I check here everyday and several times a day, so pretty sure I am seeing all the new posts in this thread.

soon, very soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
