We are the same, we just had a nasty blizzard, the wind chill today is -36. It will be a big shock to the system to be in a nice warm place.

Out of curiosity, what kind of things do you put on your door signs?

Well, the documents for Holly and I just arrived. As far as I can tell, there is only one thing that appears wrong to me but I guess it should not matter.

There are the two pair of luggage tags. One set has my name on them (twice on each half of each tag, for some strange reason) but the other set has my name on each with Holly's name beneath. Is this an error, or is this how they are doing it now - with the primary person's name (the one who made the res or is the CC member) on ALL tags? Just seems weird since she will have her own bags.

Hmmm, I can't answer that as I've never cruised. I would think as long as they arrive in the correct room, you and I will know whose bags are whose.

I'm getting more excited. Did a little shopping today and got a really nice outfit. I'd still like to find something even dressier, but if I can't, this outfit will suffice quite nicely for formal night. And it's "me"... the trouble with a lot of dressy clothes is that its all stuff that isn't my personality. Was really, really happy to find it!

Yeah - That's why I said I think it was an "error" but shouldn't matter. It IS the same stateroom. The name would only be an issue if someone's bag was lost (especially after the cruise) or someone had illegal contents (which I am not worried about with you). It just does seem like an error though.

Wonder how Dis Gal's and Brady's will be?

My name is the primary ressie. So on our luggage tags it says my name and then my name under it. Then I have three more sets of tags that each say my name and then DH's name under mine. The same for the kids.

That makes sense for a family but doesn't really for two completely unrelated individuals who are rooming together but live at separate addresses in different towns. They did not used to do it that way. There used to only be each individual's name and the stateroom number on the tag. In fact, I think it was only the last name they put, now it is first and last. Oh, well.

DisGal's luggage tags have just her name twice on each. Yes - they are here!!!!!! I just emailed brady!!!!! Yep - my little kit was waiting for me when I got home from work.

You mean brady's name isn't on ANY of the tags? So they will send her documents and tags to her at her own address I guess. They did not with Holly because her mailing address is a P.O. Box. In our case it was probably better to be sent to me since we are leaving from my house together anyway.

I got my doc and tags today. I have been out of town since Monday morning so first chance to get to mail. was going to wait until in the morning but after hearing disgal got her tags I just had to go tonight.

Anyway, I got my tags too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes the luggage tags will have the original ressie's name and then any other person's name on there under that person's. So original ressie person will have their name on there twice.

WAY Cool. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking of wearing my lime green DIS shirt the first morning. It'd be fun to say "hi" to any of our fellow cruisers while we're waiting to get on the ship. Of course having Pal Mickey will also help identify us (for those who are bringing our Pals). To me, that's the start of the party! Going on' the ship, oh yeah! Goin' on the ship, oh yeah

It'd be fun to plan a get together during the Pirate festivities as well.

Personally, I will need to wear something definitely MDC-obvious like teal since that will be for our embarkation photo, so will not be in DIS green but will have something DIS green visible on me.

Binky and Aurora have you received your docs yet? We haven't, but I am just wondering if I should phone and see when they were shipped.

My sister is a travel agent for CAA and she told me yesterday, when I was there getting my travel insurance, that she has had people leave for their cruise without their docs because customs had held them for so long that they didn't get them in time.

She said not to worry as they can handle that situation (if we ran into it) at the port.

Thanks for reminding me about the buttons! I'd put them away during my mother's endless renovations...(which is still going on...the painter is here now - will it EVER end?!!!)

Great - glad someone's going to join me at the wine tasting. I'm not a big drinker, but I do like to try different wines as that's usually what I'll have to drink when I do. I've done a couple when I worked at nicer restaurants as they'd have the vendors come in and explain all about the different wines. Always thought it was fascinating to know some of the background and the make-up of each individual wine.

Yeah, I almost never drink. I think the last time I had anything with any alcohol in it was over a year ago - ha-ha. I hated most of the wines (actually all but one) in the wine tasting, but enjoyed the experience itself. As for other alcoholic beverages onboard, they are very watered down so wouldn't bother me. But on Castaway Cay I made the mistake of having a Konk Cooler (pardon my spelling?) on a warm day and it made me even warmer, as in HOT! Now it's virgin drinks only for me on the islands!
