JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

We're DVC members, so it's a tradition for us to go to Ghiradelli Chocolate Shop for our 10% discount. We'll do that Friday night, too. Or possibly in the afternoon. Our flight gets in around 1:30 pm, so we'll have plenty of time to wander around Downtown Disney and it's no fee. :goodvibes

For anyone that's interested, here's a list of DVC and AP discounts: http://allearsnet.com/pl/discounts.htm

Hi - Can I ask since you mailed home your coats before the cruise, what did you do without them when traveling home after the vacation?

thanks...

We had someone picking us up from the airport, so we had just a short time walking from the terminal to the pre-heated car. I think this year, we will probably leave our coats behind when they drop us off and ask them to bring them when they pick us up after it's all over. We all did have long sleeves because we had all packed something for cooler weather on the cruise, so it wasn't too bad.

Okay, so we may not be able to go to the Princess and Pirate Party at the Magic Kingdom, but I think I found something that might work instead.

On April 5, 2006, the World of Disney at Downtown Disney Marketplace marked its 10th anniversary with the Grand Opening of the Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boutique, Princess Room, and an interactive Adventure Room.

The Adventure Room features a pirate theme, with many detailed scenes decorating the area. Young heroes and heroines can fill treasure chests and skulls with pirate plunder, create their own seafaring hat and interact with a new Audio-Animatronics pirate named Rusty Blade and his talking parrot pal, Pollyanna. The latest Disney video games also fuel the imaginations of young adventurers.

The Princess Room is built to resemble a great hall of a castle, and is dedicated to the classic fairy tale stories of Disney Princesses and Princes. Other features include an Audio-Animatronics princess who sings to guests, and interactive stations where little girls can create their own tiaras and wands, fill jewelry boxes and purchase princess make-up kits.

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique salon transforms little girls into Disney princesses with hairstyling, make-up, and manicures with the help of a "Fairy Godmother-in-Training." The Fairy Godmother herself "owns" the new Boutique, which offers a menu of salon services designed to pamper princesses age 3 and up.

Just off subject a bit. Has anyone going on the 1/27 cruise gone before and taken the shore excursion DCL calls CZ-19? It's Cozumel Ruins & Beach Tour, for 4 to 4.5 hours. My question is how much of that time is actually at the Playa Mia beach? And for those of us who limit sun time, what is there that can help us stay out of the sun at that beach? Thank you!

I have not taken that tour, but according to the latest Passporter Field Guide for DCL, it only gets a 3 out of 10 rating.

Some excerpts - - Tour the San Gervasio Ruins, then it's off to Playa Del Sol Beach for an hour and a half of relaxation. Includes soft drinks (but NOT food which is extra). Watersports available for extra fee."Bring bug spray!" Overall, cruisers were not impressed and "do NOT recommend it."

The meeting time is generally around noon and after the ruins it would probably put you at the beach in the most glaring time of day.

quick question, is anyone receiving two of the same new post email notifications?

meaning two email notification on the same post? weird

Yes, but that's been the case for me most of the time on the DIS. It is rare for me to receive only one notification per post, and in any case many times it can take several hours for me to get the notification. :confused3

yeah me too. may take hours or even next day. then i get at least two of same notice. oh well at least i am getting notifications. <G>

Yup, me too... I check it every day though so I've usually read the message on the boards already before I even get the notice :rotfl2:

Well I showed my wife the Pal Mickey and she loves it. Just ordered one from the phone number above. Total $80 with shipping. Could have gotten it cheaper on eBay, but wanted the assurance it would work on our next WDW vacation. He is coming with the Sorcerer outfit, so I guess Kaye (DW) will want to put him in Bermuda shorts and shirt or something like that.

Pal Mickey just arrived today. The DW was thrilled.

Yaaaaaay! A new Pal for the cruise party! :cheer2: :cool1: :cheer2:

So glad Kaye was happy with him!!! And yes she needs to find a little tropical shirt and sunglasses for him. Congrats!

45 days and counting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <G>

I have a bag in corner of my bedroom, and keep dropping items in there for the cruise. The neighbors cat visited this afternoon and decided she wanted to know what was in the bag. BOOM it fell over. the poor cat ran at first then immediately returned to check things out.

The cat also got a little jealous today while I was playing with Pal Mickey in his new wheelchair. The cat jumped on my dresser where Pal was sitting in the wheelchair, and boom, the cat pushed both onto the floor. LOL. She let me know she is just as important as Pal <G>

anyone else making their list of things to take? I am a list person so of course I have started a list. The problem is I keep adding to that list LOL.

happy holidays to all. and to think the cruise isn't that far away now!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :bounce: :bounce:

Well, yeah . . I posted my list on our cruise website, basically the same list I've had for every DCL cruise, but I make a few modifications once in awhile. I also added my Pal's packing list, but I doubt that he is taking a fraction of the stuff yours is taking! ROTFL :rotfl2:

Are we all ready for the holidays?? My husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I replied "Ship board credit" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yeah, I agree - but it's still fun to check and see what kind of questions come up. I'm learning something new all the time.
