JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

Hi everyone!

I am sure you all know this already, but I thought I'd post it anyway since we tried it and it is just wonderful!

Last year I brought a new, white pillowcase that I wrote on with Sharpee markers...I put my daughters name and the date of our cruise as well as "Sweet Dreams".

The day we boarded the ship, I dropped the pillow case as well as my new pack of colorful sharpee markers at the service desk. They asked me who I wanted to sign it...Princesses or the whole gang. I chose the whole gang. At the end of the cruise I went back to pick it up and all the characters signed the pillowcase in different colors and they did a really nice job, too! (Plus I got all my markers back!)

I also dropped off 2 mats and 3 scrapbook pages off for signing as well. I did not think my sons (9,11) would want the pillow cases) ;)
The cruise photos look GREAT in the mats!

It was a really nice surprise for my daughter when I told here it was a gift from Mickey! She sleeps on it every night! The hello kitty pillowcase has been retired!

My mother in law suggested that I stitch over the marker with the same colored floss so it will never fade. I will get around to that one day!

Well, sweet dreams all!

Beth

hi - what sort of mats did you use? Were they fabric or something else? Would like to know what worked best with the Sharpie markers. Thank you

The best way to do it is to go to the store and buy a frame with a mat already in it...that way when you get home there is no need to hunt for a frame to fit your mat. But I guess any cardboard mat will work.

Congratulations, Kim! And they are SUCH good children! They don't need diaper changes and they are very well behaved! :lmao:

He also won't wake me up several times a night wanting to eat! Elijah's sleeping for longer time periods, but he's not old enough to sleep through the night just yet. There's also the matter of Elijah preferring to sleep in my bed, right between me and DH. At least the past few nights, he's slept in his bed for a few hours...

He's awake again, gotta go.

Super...I will keep it till I hear from you. I can even keep it in my name if worse comes to worse and you can just slip me the $20.00 on the ship if they are not able to switch it -or if you cannot get a ressie. You'd just have to check in under my name on that date..just don't charge a 1974 bottle of wine to our room (LOL)

It is SO much easier to have it before you board than to rush to stand in line when you first get on the ship. That's when you need to be sitting by the (adult) pool with a 9" plate of shrimp and a Pina Colada!

Beth

Beth,

Our agent got us the reservation for Sunday at 8:30pm, so you can go ahead and just cancel yours. Thanks so much for making the offer in the first place. Now we'll have that plate of shrimp and Pina Colada instead of doing the reservation scramble.

David

Binky and Cruisin,

I found this quite ironic and wanted to share it with you. We met another couple and their 6 year old daughter during our recent cruise (11/26-12/3) and they went with us to the all inclusive resort. You won't believe where they are from - Canada (Meinsing Ontario). I told them that it was such a concidence as we had made plans to go to an all inclusive resort in Jan. with 2 families from Canada.

That is kinda wierd how things happen like that. Did you go to the same resort as you booked in Jan. if so how was it?

We're hitting the MK 'Pirate and Princess' party the night before the cruise. We only have two days at the parks so we're going to maximize our time. Look for the *really* tired family at the port at check-in on Saturday!

Anyone else going to the PaP party?

David, that is terriffic! Good News! I will cancel my extra reservation today.

You know- I just re-read my post and it sure sounds like I am trying to charge you for my reservation! I hope you know that the $20.00 is what the Cruise charges...not me trying to make some 'disney dollars'! :rotfl:

Meet you in the shrimp line! :cool1:

Thanks for the info! Saved me some searching.

I suspect both of my boys will be in full pirate regalia that night.

We are also going to be at the Pirate and Princess party the day before the cruise. We arrive that day and will be staying at BWV. The day we get off of the cruise :( we are also going to stay at BWV. Anyone else staying over that night?

Binky, in answer to your question it was a resort in Antigua. It was fabulous and we loved the whole all inclusive concept. I feel sure we will love the resort in Cozumel and eagerly look forward to it.

Hi everyone, its been a while. We will be at the Pirate and Princess party the night before as well. We are staying at the Beach Club Villas for 4 nights before the cruise to use our DVC membership for the first time. We have Palo booked for a diner and brunch and a couple spa treatments. No excusions yet, waiting on them.

I wanted to go to the princess: and pirate: party: also, but DH doesn't want to be out late the night before, so he said no. :sad2:

We'll be staying at Saratoga Springs the night before the cruise. We'll probably hit Downtown Disney instead and do some shopping. I've got to go meet my Pal Mickey, after all. :goodvibes

Hi all,
Just wanted to formally introduce us as we will be joining you all on this trip. We are:
Suzanne
David
Grace 5yr
Dominic 3yr
This is our first Disney Cruise and 1st cruise w/ kids. I am the Disney addict in our house. The kids have already been there twice. We are in 7660 ( I think) I have to look at the ressie. I am just starting to research this excursion stuff. Looking for calm things with the little ones like a beach day. Usually I am obsessed with the planning, but I guess the Holidays are distracting me right now.
Anyway, we are getting excited. I'll start monitoring and contributing more to this thread. Got lots to catch up on and I don't even think I want to know what this WPSADI stuff is all about.
Oh yes, we do have a Pal Mickey and I guess he's coming along!

We spent the weekend a Disneyland and I couldn't believe all the posts. Welcome. We have a 3 year old as well. Maybe Luke will see Dominic in the clubs.

We'll also be at the BWV for Thursday and Friday nights before the cruise. I'm actually going to be at the BC beginning the Sunday prior while attending Lotusphere at the Swan and Dolphin.

I have an 'assignment' to create a door decoration for our stateroom. I recall many others on our last cruise.

So, a question to the veterans: what techniques, supplies, etc. to you use? Magnets are the item of choice given the metal doors, but I'm interested to know about specific techniques!

Thanks in advance ...

My DH feels the same way...especially since he will be to work at 6am Friday, then we fly down late that afternoon. He'll be too pooped to party!

Downtown sounds like a great idea! Does anyone know how late the stores are open at Downtown Disney? :confused3
