JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

Huh brady? You were able to complete yours in SEPTEMBER? Is that because of your handicapped room? It seems to me that even after we were paid in full (Holly and I) it told me to return at 90 days prior to sailing to complete the documents. Oh well, maybe they are just discriminating against me - LOL. ;)

No idea why I was able to. As soon as I paid in full i was able to complete two forms. only thing i couldn't do was the contract which can only do with both of us have completed the other forms. I had fax my med form in why back when first made reservations.

So really no idea but i was able to in Sept. I doubt it had anything to do with HC room.

I was told when made ressie and faxed in med form someone from the Medical Coordinator dept would call me prior to cruise. but that would be more like 30 days or even couple weeks prior to cruise. so dunno.

Hi - no sorry did not ask why you got to do your forms in Sept. But the screen definitely shows you did the info forms. We have been paid in full for a while - so I'll get mine done tomorrow morning. Doubt I'll be up at midnight. Definitely sure I wont be up at midnight......

yeah once you have done yours, we should be able to print and complete the contract. but that still may not be done til closer to cruise as flight info form is also required. have you heard anything yet about your flight info?

I know we are still two months two weeks and one day but hey i think it's time they send your flight info NOW!!!!! we have more planning to do around that too <G>

Yes, both guests must have completed the Guest Info and Payment Authorization forms online in order to print out the DCL contract. However . .

I discussed that at length today with a rep named "Oprah" at DCL. She had to consult her supervisor when I asked, "If two guests in the same stateroom are in different locations, will they both be able to print the contract or will it only let you access it once?"

I personally think her supervisor must be incorrect on this, but she said that ONE guest will need to print out TWO contracts if there are two in the same room, and that the system will NOT allow EACH of those guests to print their own contract from two different computers/log-ins. I pointed out how absurd that was because many guests travel with others who do not live near them.

I think/hope she is wrong about this. The contracts do not print with your name on them. Each guest fills it out with their own info and signs it to turn in at check-in on the day of sailing. Since it is not automatically personalized, WHY would they restrict the printing to one computer? Has anyone else here managed to have two guests print the contracts from two different locations?

If all else fails, one can wait for the standard mailed DCL documents and complete the cruise contract that is included in those.

Taswira - funny - I spoke to "Oprah" also last night with a question. Silly alias for any phone customer service rep to select since we all know there is only ONE Oprah. My ques was about being able to book Tea online. She said yes. Guess what - I just emailed brady that I was unable to book Tea for us online this morning at 3 AM. Only dinner selections were coming up. Now I am going to worry about what you are saying for printing contracts.

brady - DCL online took my financial info, but not my genral info form - kept getting 'error 500 message'. So I have to call them when a live person can answer why????? Also can't print contract anyway until that form has been completed anyway. So I'll ask about you and I being able to print separately.

later ladies........

"Oprah" did not seem to comprehend what I was saying to her half the time. She would start answering my questions without understanding the questions, so I had to explain them repeatedly. Finally I concluded that she might a newbie thinking she was speaking to a newbie (or at least second-timer since she knew I am a CC member), so I pointed out that this will be my 11th DCL cruise. Only then did she go ask a supervisor for the answers! LOL

Oh - Forgot to "remind" everyone again that even if you can't complete the forms online, you can simply fill out the forms in your document package when you receive it - just as I did for all my previous cruises. No problem. My complaint was that if they are going to offer online check-in, make it work!

Also have to say that "Oprah" was in such sharp contrast to a DCL rep I spoke with last week - who had her supervisor even phone the ship (twice!) to get answers when she didn't know the answers! :thumbsup2

I was also online at 12:00 PST and the only thing coming up was 9:00pm dinner reservations. Which I took but we really wanted a brunch. I'm hoping that hitting Rockin Bar D early will yield us those on 1/27/06. I don't understand the issue with filling out forms because I was able to do it back in July for both cabins. It seems weird. :confused3

I can't believe we are only 75 days out!!!!

Secretkeeper, looks like we will join you @ Rockin' Bar D after we board as we too were hoping for brunch on Thursday. I phoned DCL and we couldn't reserve over the phone either, so we will have to take our chances on-board. We won't be too disappointed though if we don't get a res., it would be nice but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

everyone - the CM today I spoke seemed experienced. She said to keep checking back online for Palo availabilty because cruisers have until 3 days prior to cruise to cancel a Palo reservation. At 3AM this morning dinner was available every single night in Palo. At 8 AM only 2 nights available. Have not looked since because not so interested in the dinner.

So I will watch for my Tea. I'll check everyday hoping a lot of couples won't want to do Tea - (as in the guy says, "naw - let's do something else" and talk their wives into something else). :hourglass

I don't understand...I did make dinner reservations at the Palo, and once I had a reservation I could not pull any further reservations up on that room. I assumed that once you made one reservation that you could not reserve any more meals at the Palo because the reservation times would no longer come up. Is this true?

I did go to my husband's room (we got two rooms because we are bringing 3 kids and they needed one adult to reserve each room) and then could make another dinner reservation. So is it one reservation per room, either brunch or dinner and that is it?

Thanks!

Beth

You are allowed one dinner reservation and brunch or tea, if they are available.

I have heard that sometimes people encounter a problem if they have linked dining reservations (for regular rotation dining) with another stateroom. Then sometimes if one of those staterooms (guests) make a Palo res for dinner, it will not allow the other one to. It is not supposed to happen that way but occasionally does. But you are not allowed to make more than one online DINNER res at Palo per stateroom.

Hello everybody,

I can't believe all of the action on this thread, for some reason I am no longer getting email notifications. I just assumed nobody was posting over here. I am glad I came to check on it, I had 4 pages to catch up on.

Congratulations to all of the FL residents that recieved discounts and/or upgrades. Shari and Holly, we are having brunch at Palo the same day as you a little later at 11. I cannot believe how quickly time is passing. We will all be cruising before we know it. :cool1:

Stephanie - About half the time I have not been receiving e-mail notifications either. I guess maybe it is a temporary problem with the DIS. Anyway, I keep checking the thread occasionally to be sure I don't miss anything.

I'm sure Holly and I might run into you at brunch, since you only start 30 minutes later. Palo brunch usually takes from an hour and a half to sometimes two hours, depending on how slowly and how much guests eat - LOL. But if you notice on the res, they block 2 hours per res. :smooth:

For Castaway Club members - - I was wondering what the current CC member stateroom gift is and have heard that it is the beach tote bag they've been giving most of this year, as pictured in a post on a thread HERE. Well, darn . . that ends my beach towel collection - LOL. They gave those beach towels for 3 or 4 years in a row. It was about time for a change!

Also: Note that they are apparently no longer giving the Castaway Club Captain Mickey pins - - only the bag.

i haven't been receiving email notifications now for several days. wish whatever the problem is, gets corrected soon.
