JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

Welcome to the new arrivals, our list of friends is a long one!!

Just wondering what everyone is doing in Cosumel? We were thinking of booking the 'Beach Break' but were kinda concerned about the $220 fee, for the family to go to the beach!! Has anyone been on this excursion before and, if so, what your review is like.

Is there anyway to get the same excursion thru any place else than DCL for less $.

Getting ever closer!!! :thumbsup2

Hi fellow Canuck. I found a website - cozumelcruiseexcursions.com that looked like a nice beach. Read some good reviews of it on the trip reports but haven't been there myself... lots cheaper than the DCL excursions.... Cheers.

In Cozumel we are doing an all inclusive beach break on our own. The cost of the all inclusive beach break which includes

Free Open Bar

All You Can Eat Buffet and Beach BBQ

Comfortable Beach Chairs

Beach Towels

Use of Non Motorized Water sports equipment*

2 Spacious Swimming Pools

Kids club

and much more!

is $40 per adult, $20 ages 4-17 and free for those less than 4.

If you want additional info please let me know. We would love to have another family join us.

Hi Crusin' Canuck!

We just booked our first "off Disney" excursion! We went through Grandcaymanexcursions.com

I was a bit nervous but found that there are other cruise chat boards (gasp!) and the reviews were great! (http://www.cruisecritic.com)

The excursion we booked is a full day of a private sailboat charter. He'll take us to the stingrays and where ever else we want to go! We'll do a bit of snorkling, fishing and beach bathing. We found $400.00 a good deal for our family of 5 for a private charter! That's only $80.00 eack...not bad!

We also booked one a seperate deep sea fishing charter in Cozumel...haven't found a review on this one. Hope it is OK!

Hi Speakupjc,
Is that the San Francisco beach break that I referred to in my posting?? It's the same rates. Let me know - we're still deciding what to do on that day....
Cheers,

Speakupjc and binky1, thanks for the info. Speakupjc you have already booked the San Francisco Beach Break? That sounds like a lot of fun, and it is a little more reasonable, we will talk it over in the next couple days and let you know, we would be happy to join you guys for a beach day! Maybe binky1 will book it and we would have a bus full. I wanted to ask you, when you booked did it give you any kind of weather garrantee? If the weather turns out rotten is there any refund?

Our 9yr. old DD Carly, just read my reply and asked if there was any kids her age she could meet and get to know on the post, here, before she gets on the ship.

Cruising, I just looked and it at my confirmation and it said it was good rain or shine, however, I feel sure if it was to bad we would get a refund. They said if the excursion was cancelled a refund would be given. We do have to provide our own transportation to the all inclusive resort. The price is great which is what sold me besides everything you get for your money. We are taking an all inclusive when we cruise this Thanksgiving and it is $89 a person.

In answer to the question about a 9 year old friend for your daughter - our child is 3. I know Catherine, our daughter would love to play with your 5 year old and 9 year old daughters if they would enjoy playing with her. Children of all ages including my 14 year old nephew and 10 year old niece really enjoy her. Also if Binky is going to join us that would be great plus they have a 5 year old as well.

Hi, It's the all-inclusive resort not the San Francisco Beach break, right?? They are both on the same website... My oldest DD will be 6 and my other DD will be 1.5 - they are both very social kids (I think DD1.5 thinks she should be going to school already!)...

speakupjc, which one is it because we are definitely going to book it....

I e-mailed a info. request for this beach-break and I did get 2 responses back one for San Francisco beach and the other for the resort Reef Club of Cosumel. They said that the San Francisco beach is just a few hundred yards down the beach, so they are 2 different bookings, but I think the Reef club looks like a slightly better deal for the same $. Which one are you guys talking about?

Hey y'all check this out, I found from another thread!! Sounds kinda cool, so I put my info in and it's real easy.

I had originally made this for Wilderness Lodge but requests came in for the other resorts so I expanded it. Today I added the Magic and Wonder to the database so you can all join in on the fun!!!

I created a database system that will allow you to enter the dates you are going and search to see who else will be there when you are going!! I call it, "Who's Going".

There are 3 main pages.

1) The main search page. You can search based on a number of criteria but you don't need to use ALL of them. For example, if you wanted to see who is going in January of 2004 you would select January as the month and 2004 as the year.

2) The ADD records page. This is obviously where you would add your stay information. Take note of the password you use as you can use it later to edit or remove your record.

3) The EDIT record page. This is where you can return to change your dates OR delete your entry if need be. Make sure you use the password you entered on the add record page.

I think this will be fun. There are already over 260 entries in the database.

Does anyone know "smilesrus"? He/she is apparently on our cruise but not on our list or this thread. :sad1:

speakupjc and cruisin canuck, i requested info from the website too - it's the Reef Club that we're all talking about, right?!? if so, i think i'm going to book it - it looks like a good deal and something for everyone (including my MIL) ...
cheers,

Sorry I couldn't respond sooner but I was out of town for the football game of the century - ohio state vs michigan. Yes it is the Reef Club. Let me know if you book it and we'll plan to go together.

Hi speakupjc!

So who were you rootin' for? :cheer2: Although I am now an hour North, Oldmom and I live(d) 5 minutes from the big house. Needless to say...Saturday was a gloomy one for us (as was Friday!).

Hope you had fun!!!

Beth

Beth,

First of all I am so sorry about the death of Michigan's former coach (you may or may not know this but he was an Ohio State Alumni so Ohio State also feels your loss. A moment of silence was given at the game on Saturday and they showed a video of him in order to honor his memory). Michigan played a wonderful game on Saturday so please be proud of your boys. One team had to lose. With that said I was thrilled with the outcome and was one of the 17,000 fans that rushed the field. I even got to hug several of our players. Go Bucks!!!!!
