OK, have a question for the group. This is our first Fish Extender Giving. Do you do only kids or kids and parents?

Second question. Would you all prefer buttons or lanyards with the heavy duty plastic card with logo on it. I can probably do lanyards for everyone (Kids and Parents) if my printer doesn't act up.

Hi Ramon... this is my first exchange also... we are doing a little bit of something for both the kids and adults. Not because I felt like I had to... but because we came up with something fun for both. I think it would be fine either way! On the buttons, personally I think you should do whatever is easist for you. It's so nice that you are doing this for us anyway:

I read in a thread somewhere that some groups put a deadline on when people can still sign up for the exchange... that way you would know for certain by a set date who you would have to buy for. What do you all think of this idea? I have been picking stuff up, but it's hard when I don't know for sure how many we will be having. I think we might pick up a few more families after the final payment deadline.... so maybe we should wait until after that. What do you think?

They are both excellent ideas! I agree whichever is easier for you and don't forget to include it as $$ towards f.e. gifts we don't wanna overextend you with this crashing economy!

As far as the family or just kids I have more kids stuff?? But would like to make a family gift like something you are doing but for the door or fun things like that? Especially with the kids over the holiday break to give them something to do!!

I am surprised we haven't had many new people sign in with us but it might get busier towards the cruise like melsherard said!

Hi everyone!! We just got off the Wonder on Sunday which happened to be our first cruise ever. I told myself that I would wait a while before booking another one. Well... does about 24 hours count as a "while"? I booked this cruise yesterday for my DH (35) and myself (31).

While there was nothing wrong with last week's cruise (except for the 14 foot seas the first night), I missed out on a lot because I wasn't feeling well. We are labeling the January cruise as our "do-over" in hopes that this time we can enjoy all that DCL has to offer.

I have skimmed over this thread and the fish extender concept sounds interesting. Sorry if this question has been addressed, but is it only for children?

Please count us in on the nametags too! Swimming at 2:00 sounds great. It will be a great way for the kids to get to know each other before they go to the clubs. Also, someone asked if Cars was appropriate for the older boy crowd. I can only speak for my son(10) but I know that Cars is his favorite Disney movie. Anything Cars or Pirates would be fine.

Boy I don't know about you but I'm ready to go now!! well maybe not ready but wanting!!!! Although I have started putting together my box of things to take with us! Have a bunch of fish extender stuff just need to make mine yet.. have the fabric picked out! Working on the twins birthday party now which is the day after halloween and after that need to start Christmas shopping!!!

Thank you! We had such a good time - it was a totally different cruise without the kids with us! And looking forward to seeing them again made debarkation much easier!

Pirate night for us was the 2nd night (Nassau).

And here is a pic of the Castway Club gift - basically the same as this past January. I wonder how often they change the gift? Maybe we will have a new surprise this January?

Question for everyone doing the exchange - I think I remember reading setting a cut off date sometime after final payment for this - was a date set yet?

We're anxious too. And with the announcements of the new summer travels for the Magic, it just adds to excitement. Too bad I haven't won the Lotto down here to take our family to the Mediterrean or Baltics. You basically need too just to afford that trip

I think we do need a deadline for the FE. I've found several items, but don't think I'd have enough for everyone if others come later.

I do have to say sorry to two of my co-workers that are traveling with us. They got upset reading this board and finding that I had not mentioned them as part of my family...

Jana and Kitty and 1yo Janelle will be joining us. I'm trying to talk them into a FE, but if not Janelle can share mine.

So time is ticking and we're packed and ready to go.

The payment in full date/ cut off date sounds good.. We'll need to finalize everything so that we can have those numbers.. especially after Halloween with goodies on sale!

I think the finally payment was in early Nov too...At least thats what my letter said.
Why dont we put our final call for the fish extender at Nov 1st...? I agree, I am already buying as well and would hate to have to go back out....and sorry, I only bought gifts for the kiddos as of now...and it wasnt as cheap as I anticpated lol...oh well
