January 23, 2010 Sailing with Mickey on the Magic! **The Crusin' DISers**

Hey Tinkerkell...I post to you on FB, but I just realized that you are only 3 doors down from us!

We just can’t figure out what to do in Cozumel. The kids want to stay on the ship so DH and I can do something in port we wouldn’t normally do with the kids. I don’t want an expensive all day excursion so I am looking into non- DCL options. Maybe jet ski, but where?

I dont ever bank on someone being able to keep up with that many kids lol~ Since its just me with the kids I will actually be in there playing with the kids as well. I will def be walking around with her and ask her questions and when I feel she has the ship memorized or at least the important parts and is comfortable then yes she can sign herself out. The purpose of this is if someone comes and is checking out their child and autumn is friends with them and they all want to see a movie at 2pm. She can find me and let me know that is where she is going and go with them to the movie. She can also sign herself IN which is what I like so if me and jacob are at the pool then she decides she is bored and whats to go I dont have to get dressed and then walk jacob and me back down to deck 5 to sign her in.
Side note....she also knows if she EVER is not where she says or comes and gets me then it can be changed ;-)

Oh, never thought about the sign IN part of that! That is a good thing... I have told Alex that if she is ever not where she said she would be, she better be on her way to me! And she knows I will check... Not that she is not trustworthy, but you know how kids can get sidetracked, especially in a group. We will definitely be walking around with her to get her oriented as to where everything is too. She is really excited about meeting the other girls!

Our boat is completely booked! Even all the suites... Wow... I don't think I've been in a fully booked boat before. I wonder how crowded it'll feel.

Pretty crowded I'm sure...I've been checking on a Palo ressie since I checked in online the first day I was able to, nothing! I hope they hold some for booking on the ship :confused3

They do! :thumbsup2

I've sailed on a sold out cruise before, and it hasn't felt any different than any other cruise. Well, the WBPC had a higher ratio of adults, so the adult areas were always busy! The family pools always are crowded it seems (they are so dang small, it only takes 20 people to fill it).

See you all soon!

We're just going to get a cab and go to the beach. I think that it's about $5.00 to rent a chair and umbrella at the Royal Palms. Tinkerkell and her family might come with us,-we've chatted briefly. Maybe you'd like to join us? We're bringing the kids.

That's good to hear... :thumbsup2

can someone let me know when the formal and semi formal nights are? Thansks!
Holly

I think the formal night is the 3rd night (Monday) and the semi-formal night is the 6th night (Thursday). The 2 sea days. And pirate night is the Weds. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Our swimsuits are officially out of storage. Let the packing begin! And I just realized that I need to get a pedicure before the trip, too. Adding it to the To Do list. :goodvibes

I was just about to post about something like this. We are thinking of going to a public beach on our own. One that has motorized water sports. Then if the kids change their mind they can come and we won’t break the bank. Have you been to this one before? Is it nice? I was thinking Mr. Sanchos for all inclusive or Point Beach Break (I think that’s the name). Their prices were very reasonable. I don’t want to commit to anything because who knows what the weather will be like.

DD and I get our mani/pedi’s on Wednesday. I got a haircut last weekend. DD does not want a haircut as she is trying to let it grow out so that just leaves DS who gets a buzz cut every time. I want to make a hair appointment formal night but I did not see that option online. I guess that has to be done in person. I am so not do your own hairstyle type of person.LOL

I am now debating if we should do a day at Disney World....we have never been there. We have a friend, who has a friend, that may be able to get us 2 tickets for free. If that can happen, I am thinking we shouldn't pass up that deal!

I don't have specifics, but if we can choose a park, which one do you suggest? Kolten is not big into rides, if that matters.

I would also do it the day we get back from the cruise....I figured more time at the park if we want (our flight doesn't leave until 11:00 a.m. on Sunday).

Any thoughts?

Not long now.....can't freakin' wait!!!:dance3:

Started REALLY packing last night. Kolten's suitcase is almost done except for socks and underwear. With mine, I couldn't stop myself from adding "just one more shirt/blouse/t-shirt"!!! I would sit down, watch a bit of TV, commercial would hit and BAM, there I was again, adding another shirt! It is soooo hard to plan what I will be wearing because I don't know how warm I may be, or cold, etc.! Eeesh!

I get my mani/pedi tonight and we all get haircuts (and a color for me) next Tuesday. Then it is taking one dog (our senior) to my parents about 45 minutes away on Wednesday. Thursday we work 1/2 day, fit in 2 doctor appts for son and hubby, and then we finish putting the last few things in the suitcase! Pack up our 2nd dog and drive to sister's house (1 hour 15 minutes away a bit north of Milwaukee) to drop dog off. Then head south towards Milwaukee for our overnight stay before we board the plane on Friday!! Why am I typing this out?????:confused3 I am beginning to stress myself out with everything I need to do!:scared1:

I think I'll suggest Animal Kingdom for a single day visit. You can do and see the highlights in one day (MUST SEE Nemo and Festival of the Lion King shows). As it is the hottest park, doing it in January would be great too. You could do Disney Studios instead, if that appeals to you more, as you can get the highlights there fairly easily also.

I think I'd get frustrated with my first visit to Magic Kingdom being only one day. As a recent visitor, I'd do one day now, but I think I'd be too frantic to try and get in the 'good stuff' in just one day.

You sound as busy as me.LOL

Just because I'm sentimental I would say MK. For rides, it has the the classics, Pirates of the Caribbean and all the "mountains". DD is also not too into rides but that is her favorite park. It's the park people think of when they think WDW and the only place to get a Dole Whip. Studios is a very close second for DD because she likes the themed restaurants there better and is into Disney movies and TV. Toy Story Mania is her favorite ride there.

DD is finally tall enough for Space Mountain so we'll be in MK on Fri.
