January 20th 2014 Disney Magic 4 Night Bahamas

Jan. 20th is my first Disney cruise with my daughter. We are excited for AVENGERS ACADEMY, and to see the PRINCESS'sprincess:princess:princess: I am clueless on how to pack?! All costumes? Regular clothing? Formal wear? We only have experience on royal carribean where we were always booked for formal dinners. Any suggestions would be great!!

<3 proud single mommy !

We are so excited to meet everyone aboard the Disney Magic. This will be our family's first cruise. Our boys are counting down the days, 2 five year olds and 2 seven year olds. Asked to join the secret secret facebook group and look forward to doing FE's.

This is our first cruise entirely…so I'm probably not the best one to give advice, but from my blog experience, this is what I've read….
*there are no formal nights, just nicer clothes to dinner (in my mind, church clothes :-)
*there is a pirate night and i have heard that about half of the people dress up, both kids & adults
*i've read that like the parks, a lot of the younger kids will wear a costume just because

Like I said, we are newbies as well, so do not use my word as gospel…these are just the things that I have read :-)

Are you familiar with the FE (fish extender) gift exchange activity on the Disney Cruise lines?? Note sure how old your daughter is though?

Hello!!
Welcome! I am not sure what the secret facebook FE group is, as far as I know there is one on facebook, but I was told they are closed and basically not accepting anymore children, however, TexasTraubs and my family have started a second FE group which you are very welcomed to join if you like. All we need is your cabin number, gender and age of your child. Let us know and we will add you to our list we started on Page 8.::yes::

Hi there... I am thinking about joining this cruise last minute. I have a business meeting in Tampa the afternoon of the 24th to 27th, and thought what better way to relax than on a Disney cruise!!! I would be a solo cruiser, no kiddos or hubby this cruise!!! Not sure yet, but really excited thinking about it..

Wow! That sounds a little like heaven! Hope it works out for you!

Hi to all our new cruisers! It's getting very close and I'm very excited! Please feel free to join us in chatting over on the FB page (the link is at the top of page 2 of this thread). We're all sharing much of the same info as here. I'm not the admin of the FB page but you will be added if you submit a request.

The first FE group did close to adding cabins back in November, which is pretty much in line with most other FE groups you'll find here on the DIS. But there is a second FE group formed here, it can also be added over in the FB page! If anyone needs help getting it set up on the FB just PM me and I'm happy to lend a hand.

I am officially getting out the suitcase tonight! (Right after the dishes, and the laundry and just a little bit of work......)

No, I have never heard of a FE. My daughter just turned 5 a few weeks ago. (Although she's bigger than most 6 year olds haha) what is it??

So after much debate.. we are booked on the January 20th sailing on the Magic!!!!!

It will be my Best Friend, My son (5 yrs) and myself! I was really hoping for the Dream but couldn't justify the price, my son is so excited! DH has to work and DD will be staying with my parents so this is a special trip for my son and his christmas present.
This will be my son and I's 4th Disney Cruise and my Best Friend's 1st!!!! I asked to join the FB group, not sure if I will be able to do the FE this time as there is so much to do!

We are first time Disney cruisers too, the gopro would be excellent if you plan on going down the waterslides!!!:sail:

Hello Disney Cruisers!! I know there is postings about going to Facebook to sign up on the FE gift exchange with your families. Don't worry if you do not have a Facebook, you and your family are more then welcome to add your family to the FE gift exchange list TexasTraubs and I started for our group on Page 8!!

 :thanks:

Yay! I just figured out how to request on the page. I'm Christine :)

There are two separate FE groups, the one on Facebook is the first group that had a deadline of November 25th. TexasTraubs and I started the FE "Magic Monday" group. We are not putting it on Facebook incase a family wants to join that is not on facebook. If you would like to join our group please add your information on Page 8 in a quote and we will make sure to add you and your daughter to the FE group :) either way we are all going to have a blast and I can't wait!!!!!:cool1:

I am tickled PINK to making my 4000th post here! I am so excited for this cruise and so glad to be a part of the wonderful DIS community! From planning my very first trip with my little family (but not my first trip by any means) to venturing out to Disneyland for the first time, being introduced to running by a DISUnplugged blog and now this new horizon on DCL- I have learned so much here! Hooray!
