One thing to consider regarding the fires is that canceling can negatively impact a lot of people financially. I know because we had a huge fire some years back and those people who were still in business were sometimes hurt more than the ones whose places burned.

Wife and I will be there Friday through Sunday. Its going to be weird trying to have a good time with the fires going on and cast members likely affected.

Friday through Sunday meaning Jan 10-12? More Santa Ana winds are expected this weekend. While not as strong as the winds in Los Angeles, they are strong enough to fuel new fires - especially in Orange County and Inland Empire.

Crossing my fingers your flight isn't canceled!

While Burbank airport is impacted, I don't believe flights in and out of LAX are being cancelled. It is very smokey. Bring an N95 with you. Once you get out of LA, the air quality should be better. That is, unless fires start popping up closer to Orange County.

Edit to add:

This photo was taken yesterday morning. The Palisades fire is what you see in the mountains. The yellow arrow points to an airplane landing at LAX (red circle). Normally, planes take off to the west and land from the east. During certain weather conditions, they will flip the take off and landing directions.



Smoke has filled the basin. This photo was taken this morning. It is why I suggest you bring an N95 with you.



Edit to add a photo from 5 pm tonight. Flight patterns went back to normal with planes taking off to the west.

Has anyone flown into SNA today or recently. I just got an email from American Airlines, telling us we could change out flight dates free of charge. I really don't want to because there has been a bunch of planning and we are coming from the east coast. Just wondering what to do at this point.

I believe most major airlines are offering free change of flights. That doesn't mean that you need to take them up on it.

SNA was good yesterday. I dropped our rental off there after flying in to LAX. No residuals there. LAX had some air quality issues but not Anaheim

Westjet has a travel advisory for LAX and SNA, so far for travel from Jan 8 - 11. We arrive on Jan 20th and haven't had any changes to our flights or received any communication
