JANUARY 2017!! **CHECK IN!!

Well looking at calendar for JAN 19th. It shows DCA closing at 8:00pm, however WOC showing at 8:15? Not sure which is correct...if they plan to stay open later that night or no WOC.

If there is WOC we wanted to go that night as Disneyland closes early 6pm for special event ($95) for MSEP parade, I'm going to skip that and save 400.00 see parade when it's free in parks.

We booked WOC Dessert Party for Jan. 3 at 8:15, when the park closes at 8:00, so I think you're good to go! :goodvibes

We are thinking of adding 1 day to our January stay so we can see IASW West Coast Edition , before it closes for refurb on 1/22 .
There is no availability at the Grand California Villas in a 1 bedroom (where we have reserved all week) and it will likely not come up as available via points, so , our next best option is for 1 night at DH, or PPH . Then switch to GCV the next day.
Question ......... will be able to get our luggage transferred from either PPH or DL, to GCV ? I am assuming bell services can do this, but just want to be sure. Anyone do this already ?

just got reservations at Plaza Inn for our last day at the parks before we fly out -- since we are AP holders we don't get early access so I make our reservations during a magic morning at DL so we can get in early :-)
we have done this before and it works out great for us!!!

I've always wondered about that...so you can get in parked early for reservation without early entry?-that's nice. I've always thought about breakfast at Plaza but didn't want to take away time from parks.

yes -- there is a gate off to the side that says character meal entry (or something like that) and you go in those gates and they check to ensure you do have a reservation for that day during MM times
for us it works great when regular open hours are later in the morning like 10am when we are there so we make a reservation for between 9:30 and 10am then get into the parks at 9am to enjoy a bit of time in fantasyland or spend time wandering around main street

Hi guys,

We are a Family of 5 heading to Disneyland for the 5th time. We are staying at PVI as we love the location. We will be there from 16-30 January. We are Aussies so we have 10 day PH. I've been really slack organising this trip so I need to work out what we're doing and also book a chRacter meal for my daughters birthday while we are there.

We'll be there Jan. 12-16 for the Star Wars Half Marathon weekend. I'm doing the Half with a friend on Jan. 15. We're staying at the Grand Californian using DVC points (but actual hotel and not VGC).
I'm the friend :) I'll be there same dates staying in the grand villas with my family. Looking forward to my first walking half marathon!

Does any one know what the prices are showing for Paint the Night On the Go and Minnie and Me Character at Plaza? I know they can go up for the holidays but looking for someone who maybe has been this year?

Well , so far ...........
22nd of January , and IASW is still NOT listed on the refurb schedule.
HM is OFF the refurb schedule starting 1/20 , but JC is still listed ON the refurb schedule starting 1/8 until ??? .

Good to hear about IASW , and hope it holds ............ALL WE NEED is that 1 extra day , or we will not get to see IASW West coast edition !!!!

IASM listed under refurb starting Monday 1/23 . JC still listed under refurb starting 1/8 .

Bummer about jungle cruise... but glad Haunted Mansion will be up and running while I'm there-listed as Jan 20 back open. Combine that with IASM not closing until JAN 23, feeling lucky! :flower:

Same here !
With any luck JC will be opening back up within that week .
HM, is huge for us thats its back up on the 20th. IASW closing on the 23rd gives us that ONE day that we needed to see it, 1/22 !
Now just hoping we don't get surprised by something unforeseen going down for refurb ........
POTC , I AM TALKING TO YOU !!!!

new security gates are not making me happy right now......having to walk all the way thru DTD when staying at Paradise Pier, BW Stovall, Eden Roc or Annabelle (and other hotels on that side) is frustrating.
I stay on that side so we can walk thru the Grand into either DTD or DCA, depending on the time of day ~~ now the rumor is entrances into DTD or DCA from the Grand will be for Grand guests only! I loved walking thru the Grand every day -- esp during the holiday seasons!!

I know I was surprised by this too...but on a better note:love: figment_jii reports that MSEP Parade will be coming back!!! Yay!!

The Parks Blog just announced that the MSEP will return to Disneyland on January 20, 2017. There will also be a special (hard ticket) event on the night of January 19, 2017 (more details will be released tomorrow, when tickets go on sale to AP holders).

Main Street Electrical Parade Returns to Disneyland Park January 20
I just got tickets for the Electrical Parade hard ticket event. We have a short stay and need to maximize our park time! I hope that will mean low crowds.
