JANUARY 2017!! **CHECK IN!!

Hello fellow January friends! My family of 4 will be checking into The Grand on Jan. 29th and staying until the 3rd. We're trying not to be too disappointed about the Grand's pools being closed completely :worried:. Waiting (not so) patiently for the park hours and refurbishment schedule. Our littlest one is turning 5 on this trip....and she will finally be 40 inches! :yay:

We were finally able to book WOC Dessert Package and PTN Dinner for NY weekend. Now just waiting on the Plaza Character Breakfast to load and we will be set. It is so frustrating that they still don't have things loaded when it is under the 60 day mark.

Welcome! Yes we are all eagerly awaiting and crossing our fingers about refurbs. Hoping no news is good news at this point. :magnify:

We've booked Jan 3-6th and may do the tour on Jan 3rd to get a seat for the parade. We too are waiting on Carthay Circle dinner reservations, Plaza Inn breakfast and World of Color dessert party to open for our dates. We saw the same delay in October and everything worked out just fine when they did open. It was about 40 days for us (the reservation opened on August 31 for October 10th for the WOC dessert party). I check in daily to see if things open. so far I was able to book Story Tellers, Carnation and our Blue Bayou PTN package (1/4).

This is my me exactly and it is a mirror of october but I am just feeling very frustrated because I dont have time right now for daily check ins-In october the daily check ins waiting for calendars and reservations was a chore but it was fine, but right now I'm already getting pulled into the busyness of the holidays, which is also very busy for me at work so this is more of an irritation than October's issues. Come on Disney, give us something.

I think we figured our trip out. It's a split stay: January 13-14 at the Homewood Suites and 15-16 at Paradise Pier. We've mostly stayed at the Tropicana for our last several trips, but we have Hilton points to use so we'll stay a bit further out for a couple of nights which gives us extra for an onsite stay. All that is left to decide is dining and whether we are doing four or five day hoppers.

I arrive Jan 31 for a short trip, and leave Feb. 3. Staying at DAKL.

Hmmmm, I am thinking you may have the wrong coast here. This is the January Disneyland thread.

Unless I am wrong, but DAKL , sounds like Disneys Animal Kingdom Lodge ...........at WDW , not DL . ;)

You are welcome to join us in California if you want though ! :wave2:

Oops! :oops:You're right! I want to get out there someday soon though! Maybe this is a sign....:rolleyes1

add me now!
Jan 6 to 10 - staying at Eden Roc
Doing this trip very cheap since we were just there in October and are going back in May!

I have been really wondering if I should be spending the money on another Disney trip when we were just there-but this week is parent teacher conferences at my school. I deserve it. I absolutely deserve every penny of it. Mickey I just keep telling myself I'll be back with you soon.

Received our Rose Parade tix in the mail today. My wife and kids are saying you paid $58 a piece to see a parade? Well it was either that or spend the night like homeless people and securing a spot.

How Fun! I had no idea they sell tickets for parade, good to know. I would love to see the Rose parade. :rose:

Hi all! We have just finalized all of our plans! Our family of five will fly into LAX on January 14th and will spend one day in LA before checking into PPH on January 15th-21st. Theme park view! I cannot even contain my excitement! This is a fairly impromptu trip, and our first to Disneyland. We are WDW people and I am SO excited to walk in Walt's footsteps! I just booked our Surf's Up character breakfast this morning. Let the countdown begin!

We are there from 1/12-1/16 for the Star Wars Light Side Half marathon Weekend! Staying at the GCH again. We were just there in September at the PPH that time.

Anyone know when the Carthay Circle dinner times for Jan 17 will open up, or when Ariel's Grotto reservations for Jan 17 also? So frustrating checking in day after day. All my other reservations are booked just need these last 2 meals and we are done :)

We had a tentative trip to WDW planned for January, but recently changed our plans back to our home away from home! First trip back in 18 months. We're still working out the details but will be there over Star Wars Half weekend. Seriously considering doing the 10K but I haven't decided yet. It would be my very first 10K.

Anyone know how the races impact the parks? Will it be crazy crowded? Will there still be early entry for resort guests? We are planning a split stay with a couple nights off site and a couple at the Paradise Pier.

They will be more crowded with the additional racers and it['s a holiday weekend (MLK) I am in for all 3 races this year. I did the 5K and 10K over the inaugural weekend in 2015. Loved them all :)

anyone made any dining reservations yet?
Yes, I have ours for 1/12-1/16 mostly all set. All except for the ones I want on 1/15 not being available yet. Ariel's Grotto is not yet open for reservations in January. And Carthay Circle is only showing lunch reservations for all of January so far, no dinners? I really want to eat there for dinner on our last night!
