Just got back from a great trip to Disneyland over the weekend and I cannot wait to go back in January now! We've officially decided on Hojo for our stay.
January calendar is open through 1/4 . Another day, another January calendar day open .
Is DL really going to release the January schedule 1 day at a time !?!?!
I wonder what the delay is ? Is this normal for DL to release the schedule a day at a time ?
Yes Goofies is only one that has characters at dinner time.I'm thinking about booking a character dinner for the night we arrive in California (not a Disney day). I'd love opinions on Goofy's Kitchen versus Disney's PCH Grill. We've not been to either one before!
**Edited to add, I just saw that PCH Grill doesn't have character visits during dinner. Does Goofy's Kitchen?
Well calendar on Jan 9th is very limited-no parades, only WOC. Some added refurbs too.January calendar is open through 1/4 . Another day, another January calendar day open .

Has anyone heard about WOC for January? My husband and I are thinking of going over 14-17 or 15-18 which is the race weekend but I haven't pulled the trigger on hotel or flights because I can't find any info on WOC. I really wish the holiday one was going to be going but assume it will be down by then. I am not interested in the show they had going for the 60th celebration and don't know if there will be any fireworks but would like some kind of evening entertainment even if it's only one night. I can get a deal on airfare today . . . need to make a decision.

I'd love to hear how things go - I'm hoping to replicate your dates, but in a year (e.g., the last Sunday of holiday stuff to right before Star Wars race in 2018) - with my daughter. Okay, she'll be 20, so it's not quite the same, but it's the crowds, weather, general stuff I'm wondering about.Party of 2 Jan. 8-13!! DLH first timers! Will just be my 6 year old son and myself.![]()
We are staying at same hotel! We've changed hotels and will now be staying at the Embassy Orange, so we're able to use ART instead of driving. Yay! We've never done ART before; where do the buses drop you off?
Also, I'm assuming based on all the terror stories I've heard about driving in, that ART is preferred. Is that a fair assumption? Or is it just as much of a hassle to do ART? It's about the same cost to park vs. ART for our family...

We are staying at same hotel!first time there, but nice because 2 pools-1 being indoor.
We have ridden the ART on every past trip (3 so far) & love it because it saves time, and $ and drops off as close as you can get to park-pulls right up front Disneyland in bus drop off area.
I was just looking at routes to/from Embassy orange. It will be route 14 which will run buses every 20 min. Download the app. You can buy tickets for ART discounted at getawaytoday.
We don't usually get rental car until we check out of Disney-since don't need it & wont use it much while staying in parks-no need to pay parking at hotel & also theme park.
The buses drop off in the big shuttle areas on harbor about a football field or 2 walk from the security lines. There are many different routes, and it could be hit or miss on how dependable and timely it is. You can also usually buy multi-day discount tickets for ART. The only downside is some routes only run at certain times with certain frequency, so you may need to plan well or have to wait a while sometimes. If you aren't on a tight schedule and it's not a packed bus, they can be a good way to go.
