January 2016 Discount Code Watch

I noticed something strange last night at 1130 there were standard rooms available at all the moderates at 7 am there were none. Just seems odd since packaged had to be booked on the phone and phone lines were closed during that time. Any thoughts?

Does anyone actually know for sure they are starting the discount for the public? All I have seen is a maybe.

All the Visa Disney communication says book this now before it becomes available to the public Sept 28th.

Okay here is a question some of you might have an answer for. If we go with the SPD option, can we get a park ticket for longer then our room reservation? We are going to be at Disney for 11 nights, however we're only staying on site for 4 nights. Since our 4 nights are at the start I'm thinking of going for SPD for those nights rather then the room discount, but it only works if we can use our tickets after we check out of Disney hotels.

Yes, you can purchase a ticket for up to 10 days which you can then continue to use after you check out of the Disney resort.

Thank you both. My husband will be calling in the morning to hopefully book the PSD deal, instead of our room only reservation.

Good Luck! Hopefully you get what you're looking for! Also just in case you (or anybody who saw this post) was wondering...unless something has changed you can also get your tickets early if you were staying offsite first. I believe it is up to 3 days prior to check-in. (Since your off-site portion is second you don't have this issue but it is possible)

End of January, 11 days and 10 nights at Pop Century, 10 day park hopper tickets, Regular Dining Plan, 1 adult traveler using the Disney Visa. I saved $191. If you're doing the QS dining plan the savings may be different.
Trixie, we are going about the same time and looking at upgrading to the Regular Dining over the QS that comes with Value. Do you know how much it was to upgrade the dining plan per person?

Do you know how much it was to upgrade the dining plan per person?

ADULT: To upgrade it will cost $19.05 per adult per night ($61.82 vs. $42.77)
CHILD: To upgrade it will cost $3.44 per child per night ($20.78 vs. $17.54)

Does anybody know....if I have already purchased my park tickets and rooms at POR separately (7 days/6 nights)....can I still upgrade to SPD or will I have to settle for the room only discount?

Thanks for the response. Here is where I get confused. The Regular Dining child plan is right at $21 so that $19 would be less or do you add the upgrade fee of $19 to the already QS price of $17.54 making it about $40?

You add the $19 to the 17.54 to get the price you would pay per adult.

EDIT *I read this wrong, my answer is wrong here*

It's my understanding that if staying at a value you only get the discount based on the quick service plan. I have the regular dining and based off of this calculation it comes out to be more off than I got. So I would say the calculation is done a different way. SouthFayettsFan I think has figured it out though

Here are the prices of the 2016 dining plan:

I'm not sure I understand the question you're asking. It should be $3.44 PER Child PER Night to upgrade. If you have 1 child and you are staying 6 nights it will cost you $20.64 to upgrade the child. For one adult it would be $19.05 PER Night to upgrade (6 Nights = $114.30). If that doesn't answer the question can you explain further?

If you currently have a room only reservation then you will have to cancel it in order to book a package reservation. This applies to all package reservations, not just to a special discount deal like SPD plan. If you already have a package reservation then I think you will be able to upgrade to the SPD plan if there is availability.

Even if I've already purchased my park tickets separately? Can they combine those to make it a package?

This is where you run into a problem. If you bought your tickets from Disney I'm not sure what they do. You could plead with them and maybe if you get a great CM they can find a way to make it work. If you didn't buy your tickets from Disney you would need to return them for a refund (if allowed) and book a package with Disney.

ETA: I have no reports or personal experience of Disney doing this, I'm just saying it might be possible if you get a really helpful CM.
