January 2016 Discount Code Watch

But would they do that? I thought they normally would only offer discounts on resorts that are not filling up

Not sure. All I know is that there is no way that all of those room types at all of those resorts are sold out for the first week of February. Well, I don't know this for sure, but they were wide open last week, and now, 3 days before the current offers expire, all those rooms are not in the inventory.....I'm talking every standard room at 3 mods. That's thousands of rooms...... Not sure how or why they do what they do, but something's happening soon.

I'm not so patiently waiting. I found great airfare and we want to do a room only for the first night then a package for the next 7 days. I;m hoping POFQ is not exempt as it sometimes is. Disney Visa should come out first, then gen pop

I think there might be some IT issues, too, with the disneyworld website vs the mobile site at least. When I search on my desktop, it shows availability for 2 bedroom villas at BWV. When I search on my Ipad, it says none are available. I'm looking at the exact same time, and I've checked on multiple days this week. Everytime I get the same availability but different between ipad and desktop sites.

^ yes, that could be the case too, but the fact that it's showing those 3 mods booked, while POFQ is wide open seems odd. In the past FQ saw the least amount of rooms available for free dining. I'm wishful thinking, of course, but there's surely something else at play here.

Coronado shows availability now, but both POR and CBR show no availability for standard rooms. Hmmm???

They released Free Dining in the fall for everyone at the same time. No early access for Disney Visa. I don't know if they'll do it that way for the next package deal, but I'd be prepared for the possibility. (They also required a hopper or water parks add-on, but that's another thing entirely.)

I'm off today and just doing a little Disney obsessing. Am looking at historical information on mousesavers from last year (and this spring.) Looks like there has been no visa cardholder discount early release date (that was a mouthful) since last March. Any wagers on SPD being announced on Monday to the public? This always makes me feel like a kid waiting for Christmas. But can you imagine... You think Christmas is coming, or maybe not, and you have to wait for mom and dad to tell you when?

I completely agree. There has to be more going on; I am not convinced that they are all booked up. Boardwalk Inn is also showing no availability for any room category except standard for the last week of January that is supposed to be the third least busy week of the year. This means that every expensive club level and suite are taken?!?! These (at least in the past) have been the categories that have remained open while the standards book up fast. And it isn't because of room rehabs; those took place last year. ::confusing::

I do think it is wishful thinking, though, that they are held out for a future discount. I would think Disney being a corporation would want to book as many rooms at full price as possible. But, hey, maybe it's our lucky year! :)

I've been looking at Values the last 3 weeks of Jan and almost no std rooms were available. I could get preferred of course. Really hoping for a good discount of the trip wont be happening for me.

Joining in for the discount watch. We are planning our trip for January 9-16th and I am not so patiently waiting for a discount so that I can book. I've considered booking anyhow since we plan to go regardless, but I don't want to have to modify my ressie on the day of.

Add Coronado back on the list of no standard rooms available for 2/1-2/6. C'mon Disney, quit playing games!!! :-)

Ahh these posts have me so excited! Crossing my fingers for an announcement next week. I can't wait to try a moderate this time :D

Waiting patiently here too... we are new AP holders, but haven't seen anything discount wise for late Jan yet!

I had a January booking for a standard room at CBR sitting in my cart. Today when I was on the site looking to see if a new promo was out I was notified that the package in my cart was "no longer available."

I don't believe for a second that all the CBR standard rooms are booked for January, so maybe there is something to the idea that those rooms that were not yet officially book up are being blocked off :)

Given how easy it's been to find ADRs for pretty much everywhere (even though I ended up booking after the 180 day mark because we had to move our vacation), there's no way that all the standard rooms are gone at every moderate. (And I just checked... for a brief moment, POFQ had no availability at all. They're definitely messing around with SOMETHING.)

I'm seeing what everyone else is seeing with very limited availability at almost all resorts. However, Orbitz has many available. Maybe Disney is selling more to other sites now. ugh!!!

I've seen it too--including the change to something in my cart--and that was for an All Stars. On Orbitz the prices they were showing me were pretty much non-discounted rates... and usually once the discounts are out Orbitz will match those--and if I watch for their 15% off codes I can get room better than the Disney discount... I'm thinking it will be Monday morning... but I guess we'll see.

If you book your room on Orbitz can it be added to MDE for FP reservations?
