January 2013

Woohoo Sandi!! Hopefully he really has caught the Disney bug!!

Kim, the stripes are awesome. I can't wait to see the finished product!

I'm so excited, DH is getting more and more into the trip :yay: I took youngest DS to baseball yesterday and when I got back youngest DD was twirling an umbrella, DH told her to tell me where she was going to get a new one, she turned and said DISNEY WORLD, and he had her watching parade videos on you tube! WooHoo!!! Maybe he's finally gotten bitten by the Disney Bug!!!:woohoo:

Yay!!! Nothing makes a Disney trip better than when both of you are loving Disney!!

I've been learning that I really need to slow the pace of our trips down and then DH starts to enjoy it all more. Sometimes, it drives me crazy b/c I want to go, go, go but when we do, we usually end up tired, cranky and get in a tiff ... not worth it!

This past January trip was our best one yet and we relaxed, still saw a bunch of stuff and DH didn't do his Day 5 Grumpy-Dad act!:cool1:

I apologize if this has already been discussed, I haven't been keeping up with the thread. Our trip starts January 4th, I can book ADRs 190 days before that, correct?

Anyone know when the park hours/rates will be out for January 2013?

I like this website to figure out when I can made ADR's. According to it, if you check into a Disney hotel on Jan 4th, you can start making your ADR's on July 8th.

Park hours for January should be released on the Disney website sometime the first week in July. BUT you can see park hours for January about two weeks earlier then that if you look at the Travel Agent site.

Right now it shows Jan 2012, but once they release Jan 2013, the link will be updated.

Rates for January will be released when they release the entire year of 2013, which in the past has been in August. But last year they released it much earlier, June.

Oh and I just wanted to mention that you can book ADR's 180 + 10 out if you stay onsite, it's a little different then 190 days out. Basically you can book your ADR's 180 days from check in day, PLUS up to 10 days for your trip.
For those who are staying offsite can only book 180days out from each day. So they have to call (or go online) 180 days out from each day of your trip, while onsite get to do it all on one day.
Hope that makes sense.

Hi all! I am so happy to find this, I thought I was crazy for planning so early!

My family and I are planning our first trip for January 2013 (12-17?) and I need all the help I can get! Lol
So my first question is, can I book my hotel now or wait for 2013 pricese come out?

We are planning on staying at the AOA Lm room (so excited):cool1: just have to wait for my work to approve my time off :sad2:

Anyone else planning on stay there?

I am looking forward to talking more to my fellow January 2013 planners!

You can book now if you want. If you do, then you have to pay the cost of one nights stay at whatever resort you're staying at instead of the $200 price to book a package.

Where we stay will really depend on finances.

Oh yeah, I wish. We are probably leaving on 1/31 or 2/1.

Gotcha updated :thumbsup2

:welcome: & added. Just let me know if you ever need to make any changes. I've been so wrapped up in making the pattern for this scarf, that I missed your post for a few days.

WOW almos an entire year! ugh Id go crazy

Nah, a year is nothing. We have a 5 day trip coming up in June. Between the last day we were at WDW, until the day we check into the Pop Century, 5 years, 7 months, and 10 days will have passed. Compared to that, a year is nothing.

many people would be happy to only go a year in between trips. I've seen countdowns in the 500-600+ day range!!

I consider myself extremely blessed!!

And really, I don't want winter to come any sooner. With as mild as this past winter was, I wonder if we're in for a doozy of a winter!:scared1:

I'm just worried how bad this summer is going to be, since it was such a mild winter. A bad winter (at least what is considered a bad winter in Texas) I can deal with a lot better than a bad summer.
I have a friend that lives in Lake Havasu City, AZ and this is what she posted the other day on her FB page:

If it's like that already, what is the rest of her summer going to be like? I just couldn't live there.

wow! That's some hot temps for Az .. or anywhere.

Here in Virginia we are laughing (sadly) that we got Snow in October (which we never do), hardly any snow in Nov - Mar (when we should) but got lots of warm temps instead.

Now this week at the END of April-- it's cold. Yesterday my car temp said it was 38 degrees in the mid-morning!!! And just 2 days prior it was almost 80 degrees at the same time.

What in the world is going on??:rotfl2:

I know! Last night I was freezing my tushie off at the ball field, I eventually took youngest DD in the van to watch movies, I could still see DS on the field, lol

I'd like to join this group. My hubby and I will be at the World for our 10th anniversary from 1/19 through 1/25 or 1/26. Currently booked at SSR through the 26th. But when the 7 month DVC window opens for us, we may switch resorts and come home a day earlier. I may have a business conflict on the 26th but won't know for sure until September.

I'll be sending a PM for the info for the FB group too. Look forward to hanging with all of you during the wait over the next few months!

Happy Early 10th Wedding Anniversary!!!

We toured SSR on our last trip, and I really liked it.

I'll go check the PM and send you a request on FB to put you into the group.

Its no biggie, I understand. The scarf is looking good! Can't wait to see it when its finished!

Thanks for kind welcome. We are planning to do a different type of trip this time - no parks!! Not sure if we can really do that but I've just begun the planning. We always do lots of resort hopping so that will take a lot of time. I've done the Segway Tour at Epcot, but if DH can get down to the weight limit, I'd like to do the one at Fort Wilderness. We also are thinking mini golf, parasailing, rent a boat, rent bikes, tea at Grand Floridian, Luau, Mickey's BBQ, Jelly Rolls, a pub crawl through the resorts, bowling at DTD and a movie or two. Sounds like a busy week without hitting the parks at all.

I'd love to know if any of you have ever done a trip without parks and if you have any suggestions for other activities. As you can tell, my kids are grown so it's just the two of us.

Thank you!! I got the actual yarn the other day and all I've been doing is working on the pattern. Here is the yarn colors:

The green is going to be the solid side.

That still sounds like a great trip. I just don't think I could do one, right now, without doing the parks. I probably could if we got to WDW more often.
