JANUARY 2013, Who Else is Going?

So excited! We leave in 8 days - just my DD5 and myself! Leaving DH and DS1 at home. I think some sun and some Disney is just what the doctor ordered to cure these winter blues. Does anybody else have a DD the same age that will be there the 29-31? I need a brave girl who would coax my fearful girl onto some rides.
You can check the list. It is the first entry in this thread. Hope you have a blast!

How's the weather? I'm bummed at the forecast - especially with the beautiful weather there last week. Oh well a rainy day at Disney is still better than a sunny day at work!!

It's yucky :(. Pouring rain, dark gray skies & cold. However, I know this is very unDisney fan of me, but the one good thing about dark sky & black out hotel curtains is that it's 9;00am & my 3 yr old is still sleeping! She needed it after a long day yesterday.

A well rested child = a much more enjoyable day in the parks.

Todsy in the park. Went to EE with ability to stand under shelter at security. Rain gear on. 9 rides by 11:00. Love it. Grey now but no rain

Glad you didn't let the rain spoil your trip! I think my favorite trip to DL was the one with a few rainy days because of the low crowds. Can't wait to be there myself on Monday!

Rain stopped after a few hours but still crowds were really low. Walk on SM, CS and RSR single was only a 4 min wait. We got RSR FP at 11:30 also.

So amazing today. 22 rides and only used a FP (besides RSR) on Soarin. It helped move us up one showing.

WOC not very crowded either.

Great day!

That's great you got so much in! That was the crowd level I was hoping for. I live in Vancouver Washington just like you so I can definitely handle the rain - I was just hoping to get away from it for a few days! My weather app now has Tuesday showing as Sunny - so there is some hope.

The early morning rain was great crowd control. It didn't rain hard just enough to keep people away. We did so much at DL in such a short time. The sun came out in the afternoon and we sat on a bench had ice cream and people watched. It's been so warm and wonderful.

We leave in the morning!!! :cool1::cool1:

Can't Wait to get away from single digit temps pixiedust:pixiedust::hyper::hyper:

Don't you wish DISers had air bubbles floating over their heads with their handles, so we all could say hi to each other? I guess that's what the DIS t-shirts are for, eh.

We leave tomorrow!! Plaza Inn Monday morning and Mickey's Surf's up Tuesday. The girls are so exited. I still have a cold but I will just keep on the Dayquil! WOOHOO!

Went yesterday from 2-10. Great day. Walked right onto Indiana Jones, California Screaming, and Soarin Over California. Even a 20 minute wait for Toy Story Mania

We leave in the morning!! Bags are packed and we have checked in and have boarding passes. This week has been -40 C all week up here in Manitoba so I cannot wait to see grass and sunshine!!!

We've been having a great time! Super low crowds & just about walking onto every ride. Bit more crowded Sat afternoon once the sun came out, so we headed back to the hotel for a swim & some movie time. Nice to relax on vacation too. :)

Just back from my Jan. 24-27 trip. We were only in the parks on the 25th and 26th. We were nervous about the forecast, but only experienced sprinkles now and again, and it was pretty warm regardless.

I have to say my favorite part of the trip was walking about to Toy Story on Friday morning around 10 or 10:30 and seeing a 5 minute wait. Our eyes bugged out. We asked the cast member, is that sign missing a zero after the five? And she laughed with us, and said it had been super light all morning, and many folks were riding it over and over again. We proceeded to do the same, and ended up with 3 games before I got bored and dragged DH away. :goodvibes We've been wanting to do that since it first came out, but have never had less than a 30 minute wait.

I know a lot of folks have had a lot of concerns about the NAMM show, and even though this is the 4th year in a row I've gone during this particular weekend, I was still amazed at how light the crowds were. I think it's partially because of the rain, but mostly because of them moving the NAMM show to the weekend after MLK Jr. Day, instead of during. Next year is the same, and we can put up with maybe less than ideal weather and a few ride closures to enjoy the beauty of the parks with short wait times and no crowds.
