January 2012 Car Rentals

I just booked with Alamo using the code AD4027JDO, and I got a great rate. I found this code on this board, so thanks!

I'm a bit worried, though, because this looks like an old code from 2010! Also, I have no physical coupon. Do you think I'll be okay?

Thanks a lot!

If the website accepted the code then it will be fine. It is probably an Alamo code and a coupon is not needed. The only hitch is you have to be an Alamo insider to use this code. What are your dates?

Every time I try to use a code for $35 or $40 off a rental (that I meet the qualifications for), they tell me that they are completely sold out at MCO. :rotfl: I find that hard to believe.

But, otoh, I am THRILLED and VERY HAPPY to have a rental with Alamo for an economy car (just two of us) for 1/5 -1/10 (marathon weekend!), for $65 TOTAL with all fees and taxes.

I mean..how can I complain? :cool1:

But it sure is fun to try and get it lower...

From a Google search for AD4027JDO, it does seem to be an old Alamo insider code. And yes, I am a member.

We're renting from Jan. 24 to Feb. 1. Layering on the Costco discount, and $40 off from AD4027JDO , we are at $171 (including all fees) for 8 days in a full size.

I used the Alamo insiders number (we are a member) and the $40 coupon. We have a compact from Jan 27 to Feb 4 for 118.29! That really went down a lot! I'm so glad that I waited to book.

It may be an old code, but, apparently it has not expired, cause if it did, you would not get that rate. What is odd is that it rejects this coupon for rentals that have dates before yours. IE: dates within this month. Anyway, good rate.

Kris, I plugged in your dates and if you are an insider you can get a good rate on a full size using ID 7015135 and coupon code AD4027JDO.
The economy car will not have power window or door locks. Not sure if that matters to you, but just sayin.

It does not mean they don't have cars, it means they have sold out the allotment for that particular promo.

Where it says "Optional Rate Information" - the Costco ID goes in the ID/Corp ID box. The coupon code goes in Coupon Code box and your Alamo membership number goes in the Member ID box. I think $134 for the standard car was right.

Woo Hoo! Thanks down to $105 today!

Mine went down another $15 today. I'm now at $102 for a midsize for 7 days. 1/27 - 2/3. :cool1: Still a lot of time before we leave!

I started at about $300.00 for a nine day rental with alamo insiders and the $40.00 code. I am now down to $156.00 using a $35.00 code.

I am down another $20 dollars today with these codes!! I used 7015135 and coupon ad4027jdo and got a full size for $78 for Jan 5th-Jan 9th!!! Yay!!!

Do you think there is much of a difference between a mid-size and standard car? Size wise?

According to Alamo's website, a midsize holds 5 passengers, 2 pieces of luggage and will have 2 or 4 doors. A standard holds 5 passengers, 4 pieces of luggage and is a 4 door. From what I've read on the boards, MCO doesn't have a 'standard' row, so you choose from the 'fullsize' row. For my dates, a standard is cheaper than a midsize, so it was an easy decision to go with that class, but even if it was a few dollars more, knowing I would get a fullsize instead I'd probably still choose a standard. Kind of like a free class upgrade!

Woo Hoo! Our rates dropped another $40. It's a different price now than it even was this morning. We're now at $204 for a 14 day rental with Alamo!!!!:banana::banana: I'm so excited. I thought with MLK weekend thrown into my dates, I wouldn't reach the $100/week mark.

I put in my Insiders member number, Costco ID 7015309 and $40 coupon code given to me here on the boards AD4027JDO. Worked like a charm!!

Man, I love this board! Although I had to use a different code and only got $30 off, I managed to get a full-size rental for six days (1/1-1/6) for a base price of $56 plus taxes and fees. Each of the child safety seats I added cost more than that! :lmao:

By the time all was said and done, I got it for $237 including taxes & fees, one toddler seat and one booster seat. This is $200-300 less than I was seeing anywhere else!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Check your reservations again! Mine was down again this morning. Yesterday I was at $102 for a mid-size. Today the midsize was $76 and standard was $84. I re-booked our january week rental, upgraded to the standard and was still down another $18. :cool1:

I booked 2 days ago at $95 with Alamo and now it's up at $120 for my dates...I was hoping it would go down again! :) I will keep checking!!!

Thanks guys! With the info on price dropping and the fact that the standard/full size are the same at MCO, I was able to save another $16 today making my total savings over $65 this week.

I now have with Alamo insider #, and a $35 coupon = $116 for a Standard (Full) for $116 for 8 days, 7 nights. :cool1:
