Hi guys. I know you probably get sick of answering these sorts of questions, but I do need a little help. We are trying to work out when is the best time to come over from Australia. January is good for us as school is out, our school year starts 1st Feb. I'm not worried about weather, I know it will be a little cold. Is January pretty quiet? We have a 2 year old and 5 year old so hoping to go when it's not peak time. I know there will be some ride closures. Is it best to go straight after new year, or leave it a little later in the month? We went in November a few years back and that was fantastic crowd wise, but I don't think we will have the funds to go that early. Any advice is appreciated.

With kids that young I do not see how it will matter very much when you go. HM goes down in Jan to remove the holiday overlay, and IASW does too. But your kids being so young they are likely not ready for HM anyways. Other things do go down as you have mentioned. This all happens after the first week of January which is still high season.

Mostly be aware of American Holidays. There are three that will affect DLR. Martin Luther King in Jan, and President's Day in Feb. Also, California has a state holiday for Abraham Lincoln's birthday in Feb.
