Hey all! Been away from the Dis for awhile but glad to see others planning for a January 2010 trip. This will be my 5th trip at this time of year. I love nothing better then to escape the winter of Pittsburgh (I am a Burgher too Saffymom) and bask in the magic of WDW during the end of January. Past three years we stayed at Boardwalk Villas, Animal Kingdom Villas and Old Key West. For 2010 I scored a wonderful.......(drum roll please) Treehouse Villa at SSR for 7 nights!!! I can't wait. Watched the construction this past January while riding the boat to DTD from OKW. They look great. And I also am looking forward to hosting a large number of friends this time. Best friends who we have always wanted to do WDW with are coming, plus our WDW buddy is feeling better now and can join us again this time, and maybe a few others. I want to host a dinner for everyone plus a few local Florida friends one night. There will be at least one PARTY in the Trees!!!
Each house comes with a full kitchen and grill.
You will all love this time of year....It is the best. Low crowds, less stress, and decent weather. But hey a 20 degree day at WDW is better then no day at WDW. And let me tell you, one day it was 20 degrees in Epcot and the fur trimmed Hansen Helly jacket in Norway for $250.00 was looking pretty good. LOL!! But later that week I loved my shorts at DHS.
Highlights of my last trip: California Grille dinner OMG!, Husband swimming in the Living seas tank, and meeting Stacey from WDW Top 7 resort tv show. She just happened to be in Epcot while we were there.
PS: I did buy that jacket in Norway, but it was my last day there and they had marked everything down by 40-65% off due to upcoming stock change. I got it for $110.00. WOOHOO!
Last Jan we had the crowds from the dance stuff as we were leaving. We were there the last week of Jan. Nothing personal, but if so it may change our minds about where we stay. I hear the values get really crowded when they have the competitions.
