We leave in 9 days and I have a question for you "All Knowing Snowbirds"....

I registered all of us online last night (diff ressie #'s but all under a grand gatherings). It wouldn't let me list the grand gathering #, just the actual ressie #. Do you know if we'll still have 3 rooms in a row since we're a gg? Or will it just go off the ressie # and have the possibility to split us all up?

The email has the photopass for $99 pre-order. I did pre-order last trip and want to this trip. We have ordered the disc each trip. We get MANY photopass pictures and then I alter them all when we get home, so we usually end up with 4-5 times the original count due to the edits we do. I know the content of the email and the subject line so I specifically told the CM this. She said she sent it but it can take 2-3 days to reach my mail box, I think they trigger it in queue?

Anyway this morning I received a Disney email from DisneyFamily.com to enter their sweepstakes! Hope this isn't what she sent me!

What frustrated me more is when I asked to placed in a certain area of AKL (Zebra Trail) she had no clue what I was talking about. I told her 3 times I understand there is NO guarantee, but wanted it on my file . She asked are we are celebrating something? Well this got be more mad All my ADRs have our Celebrations, I added it at time of ressie and again when I paid for the trip (because he asked at that time) AND when the automated attendeant asked me I told her and she confirmed it was added by repeating it back to me! So why the CM asked me again I will never know
Must be why my ME tickets are blank other than our names

Anyhow I have confidence in the call center room requests, because our room request in 2009 at WL was matched 100% !

I am reading other TR and see the resorts are really pushing the check in time. We've never been told our room isn't ready, so let's hope it's ready this time too ! After being up most of the night, a room to freshen up would be nice!

We did start our "packing" last night, consider it sorting - placing the things we would like to take into the suitcase. Then we'll make final decisions before we leave. The weather on the 25th sure did change fast, yesterday it was high of 80 and full sun, today it is 76 and rain

Not sure why I am so disappointed this trip - the planning doesn't seem to be there, maybe it is the stress

WELCOME BACK Mel! How did you do in the race? So sorry that the weather wasn't nice and toasty warm for you! How was your Photopass experience?

Thanks Kim!! I did not race because my legs were not healed enough...I didn't want to hurt myself any more than I already am BUT I had lots if fun! PhotoPass was great - lots of photographers out and I think we got quite a few pictures for only being there for 2 days!

Mel- I had no idea about the de-icing machines. 2 hoursis a LOOOONG time to wait on the plane. At least let people wait in the airport- less claustrophobic! Glad to hear the wait times weren't that bad but then again no one probably wanted to go anywhere when it was that cold!

I was surprised that they made us sit on the plane too! They said it was more comfortable for us on the plane then in the airport I was woundering if they've ever sat in a plane before I felt bad for the Mom's & Dad's who had o keep their kids entertained

Did you fly out of Canada? how were the airports? Was returning easier than going? I am really dreading these carry on restrictions.

I really do want to do it next year...it looked amazing and the runners we talked to said it was the best race of theor lives...I had a hard time with seeing the race and talking to the racers because I was/am so disapointed that I couldn't do it BUT hopefully one day I will...I really want to next year but I'm not sure if I can convice my DH to let me go again

I have not trained in so long but after all that walking in Disney I think I am going to slowly start getting on the treadmill and walking...we should start up a tread or facebook thing and keep in contact and hopefully help with the motivation

Yes I flew out of Canada...I flew from Calgary to Toronto and that was fine...They were searching every other person that did not beep. In Toronto they searched every person and it's pretty intense...they feel EVERYTHING. But I would rather be safe than something bad happen The lines were not that bad...you go through the main search, then the pat down one and then they go through your carry on. They say no carry on but you are allowed a small purse/bag that has some stuff in it - I actually did not see them stop anybody from taking anything on so I think they just don't want people bringing there luggage with them. Also when you come back from Flordia to Canada you can bring carry on stuff (so go ahead and shop ) I have to say that I was really unsure how long it was going to take ect...but it was smooth and they had tons of people doing it....I think the extra searches only added on 5 or 10 mins so not too bad!!

Well that's POSITIVE news. We're flying out of Toronto. I know they pat EVERYTHING - I'm ok with that- better save than sorry, and if it gets me through the line quicker - so be it. On Jan 8th they released a formal document on what was and was not allowed. I am trying to pick a purse/bag very wisely, I was going to use my VB backpack but not sure if they will think too big. I too think it is more concerned with those bringing their luggage versus just a book and your camera.

If your backpack isn't to big I think it will be fine....I think they are going through everything so if you bring a bag with lots of stuff in it it will just slow them down so you should be fine

You don't have to register it ahead of time. Basically it operates like any other photopass card. You can take it to the parks, use it for pictures and then register it or register it ahead of time. We did that and also used other cards if one of us was without the one they sent us. I don't know that it does anything extra for you. I only did it because I got a pre-order photopass offer and was on the site to do that business too.

well we are down to 11 days and today I went and took all the restaurants we eat from most often (CS) and made menu cards...I did a card back and front for each park. The most annoying part of cs is having my Dsister go up and decide what she wants, then come back, tell me and then I go up and order. Now we can just look at our own menus. YAY
I am pretty sure the guy at the print shop thought I was nuts...I was getting them laminated.

I ordered it from GF. I ordered a marble cake with white chocolate filling. The cake is minnie mouse themed as per request of my 3yr old.

this will make me sound like a complete weirdo, but I think I'm beginning to suffer from the post-disney blues, and we haven't even left for our trip yet!!

I'm starting to feel the same way!! I was just talking with DH about wanting to do my first trip report after we get back, but how I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll be too depressed/jealous to be on the boards and see everyone else's upcoming trips

Guess I should really enjoy it while we're there

Oooh, that's not good! I posted this on my TR to, but here is some info. You've probably looked at the maps. We were on the zebra trail but on the first wing off to the right. We overlooked the Uzima savanna. The opposite side of our wing faced the Uzima pool. It was a nice location. Not far from the lobby, on the same side as the restaurants too. I'd stay on the Zebra trail again.

If you want any more info on the activities etc. Let me know. I found all my info tonight.
