January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

Jen is back and had to take care of a sick Prince Phillip so I'm just getting on now...well I also had to start my trip report LOL!!!

Anyways I had the most magical trip ever!! Taking a solo trip for a Disney fanatic is the ultimate experience and I would recommend it for anyone! I had such a great time, besides the fact it was freezing...and NO I did not swim and I will let you know that even our beloved Kim (NorthernDisneyGirl) had to buy a sweatshirt, because she was chilly...LOL (I win LOL)

Welcome back, Jen! :wave2: Can't wait to read your report! Hope you don't mind, but as the year continues on I may need to pick your brain - it looks like I'm doing a solo bounceback in September (or maybe a solo trip in December for my birthday) and I'd love some ideas! :scratchin

Welcome back Jen! Can't wait to start on your TR!!!

Awww Thanks!!!

Absolutely...I'm totally sold on the idea of a solo trip!! In a few years I'm going to plan another one, once we are settled in Austin!! My next trip is with some girlfriends and I can only imagine what fun that will be also!!!! I also got a bounceback offer however because I knew when my next trip was I passed on it, but not next time!

So did all the chatty people go to Disney and abandon the rest of us? How sad!!

I'm almost done writing up my trip report (pasting it on the DIS boards in chunks, since I'm sorting photos at the same time!). It's a nice reminder of the trip, really.

We had a bounceback offer in our room but my friend (I called her about it) wasn't interested in the dates offered. Dangit!! I'm missing my annual September trip this year (since the dates for it moved and I have a work commitment), we're probably NOT taking a summer vacation, and my husband is going on a business trip the week before the annual September trip (which he'll take without me).

Whine, whine! ;)

Anyway, my point is that writing up my TR and looking at the photos just reminds me to enjoy the memories!

I hope everyone heading out in the next day or so enjoys their trips!!!

Between that and the "after Disney depression"!
I'm attempting to get more pictures uploaded for my TR, but my computer is running really slowly...oh well!

I'm still here - anxiously awaiting Monday morning when I get to finally go!!
Trying to wrap up my work (today's my last day) and all that.
I think that those of us who are left have asked every question known to man and we're all just frantically doing :laundy: and packing!!
I'm trying to keep up with any TRs coming out, so keep posting! It's getting me really excited (okay well even MORE excited!!)
The weather is looking pretty good for next week too! I hope the forecasts are accurate and hold up.

Good afternoon!!! It sure has been quiet around here. We're missing quite a few Snowbirds right now and in the next few days, even more of us will be gone! (me included :cool1: ) Tomorrow is going to be a crazy day for me. I'm going to do a tiny load of :laundy: (I did the bulk of it yesterday) so that there will be no dirty clothes in the hamper when we get home. I'm also going to pick up a magazine or two for the plane ride. I do have my Jon & Kate Plus 8 book, but I like to have options. I'll have my PassPorter too! Hmm...what else.....I need to stop at the bank for some more quarters. We have plenty of pennies but just not a lot of quarters for pressed pennies. I also have to pick up and drop off my DH's dry cleaning. What else am I forgetting...ah yes, I have to pack!!!!!!!

Do you remember what the days of the bounceback offer was???

You have http:// twice. I forgot to tell you that you have to delete one set of those!

Yeah..if I was smart enough to look over what I was doing...just once...then I would have caught that...:lmao:

Ok, I think it's good now.

I'm still here until Tuesday morning! Busy like the rest of the people getting ready. Plus we have H's annual work party Friday, still have to get my hair colored eyebrows waxed...;) , get the house all clean and laundry and bedding done -especially since we have someone coming to stay at our house with the dogs, so I have to get it all ready for her! And I am trying to do extra long workouts (so time consuming) so that I don't feel so guilty in WDW because I sure as heck won't be wasting time in the gym there!!
Plus that 3 hour Lost that was on last night consumed my whole evening!

The clock is ticking, I am running out of time to get things done! But it's so exciting, I can't wait!

TWO DAYS FOR US ALSO........ everyone is getting very excited here.... I am going to start packing tonight..... DH says he will pack Saturday before heading to the airport that he needs to go a few things..... MEN.... DS says he needs some new shorts..... WHERE were they last week when I said "does anyone need anything new for Disney".....:rotfl2:
Late Monday night hubby said the same thing...he thought he'd try to get to Old Navy-I laughed out loud! He had to work late every night (including tonight) and although he's off tomorrow, he scheduled a client for his pers. training side job and he has to get my car inspected and go to the license office which is NEVER a quick ordeal!! We've only been planning this trip for months...could've went to Old Navy last weekend! UGH!!!

We hit the road tomorrow!!! :drive: Nothing like a 20 hr drive with a sinus infection!

There are so many things I should be doing right now, but I have a quick question...to you avid pressed penny collectors, how many quarters is enough? We have the small canisters filled 2 quarters/1 penny, and I think it's about $10 worth? Is that enough or should I bring back up?

Anyway...I left work early because I feel so cruddy and can't talk, so I can't lead groups anyway! I did get everything done that needed to be done tomorrow, too, (I'm supposed to work 1/2 day), but "just in case" I'm not feeling well <insert cough here>, I'm covered! :) So now all I have to do before we leave in exactly 23 hours is get my hair done, get mani/pedi, make sure hubby actually gets car inspected and licensed/sales taxed, etc...laundry, pick up kids from MIL's and have dinner "so you don't have to cook" (as if I would've actually cooked tonight :goodvibes ), finish packing, clean the house so my mom and MIL who are checking on our cats don't think we live like the slobs we are, go to Home Depot because my stroller's parent tray is missing a screw (as am I), and maybe get a few hours of sleep :rotfl2: OH and I forgot about still printing out transfers and ironing shirts...this list is just COMICAL!! WHAT WAS I THINKING??????????

Whew! Your post made me tired just by reading it! I have tons to do too, but I have all day tomorrow to get it done. Just remember, even if it all can't be done, you're still going to WDW and that's the most important thing of all! ::yes:: Maybe we'll bump into each other this coming week!

I had this discussion with hubby last week. Same response from him---nada, don't need a thing!! I hope he remembers that and doesnt try to sneak out and shop tomorrow!!! I would like to run and get a pedi tomorrow!! But, if not, I'll just do them myself!!! I will feel like I am wasting an hour and a half of packing time if I do go tomorrow!!!! Got the upstairs cleaned (schoolroom, bonus room, with hubbys weights and the kids PS2, and the bathroom)---also, kids bthroom downstairs!!!!! So, I will do mine tomorrow and last of laundry. Things are looking up--hubby should be here before long, and we are going to do the scavy, then SURPRISE!!!! I'll let you know how it goes!!! AFter that we are going out to eat--I just don't have time for cooking right now!!HA:rotfl2: Really, if I get in a bind, that's the first thing to go!!!! Oh--kids rooms are clean as well!!!! That leaves me getting the kitchen and living room, and laundry room picked up and vacuumed before tomorrow night!!! YIPPEE!!

This is sooooo doable!! And my kids are still thinking we are going to my mom's in the morning! HA!! They got alllllll their school done today. We had to double up a few things, but we are finished!!! Praise the Lord--I am soooooo thankful He helped us get it done!!! I can now enjoy my trip knowing my kids are where we should be and my house is cleaned!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow I gotta print those Boarding Passes!!!!!!!:cheer2:

:hourglass Time is ticking!!!! A little over 37 hours til I leave for Houston!!!!
