January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

There are so many things I should be doing right now, but I have a quick question...to you avid pressed penny collectors, how many quarters is enough? We have the small canisters filled 2 quarters/1 penny, and I think it's about $10 worth? Is that enough or should I bring back up?

We're taking $20 in quarters this year. I don't know how many we took last year, but we ended up getting more change (in Italy) because we ran out. I'm guessing we had about $10 last year.

Do you remember what the days of the bounceback offer was???

I'm wondering if just about everyone got an offer?

We had one in our suite at All Star Music. The times for us were all basically in the middle of summer. It's hot enough here in WI during the summer...I can't imagine being in FL...plus with the crowds :crowded: .

TWO DAYS FOR US ALSO........ everyone is getting very excited here.... I am going to start packing tonight..... DH says he will pack Saturday before heading to the airport that he needs to go a few things..... MEN.... DS says he needs some new shorts..... WHERE were they last week when I said "does anyone need anything new for Disney".....:rotfl2:

Morning Snowbirds!!
Got lots of :laundy: done last night - have to finish packing tonight, go to the Science Fair, have the girls pick out their stuff they want to bring in their carry on bags.
Made my appointment for my mani/pedi for tomorrow a.m. So once the kiddos go to school, I get pampered. Then I have to pack up the van (hope I don't mess up my nails!) :)
:cool1: pixiedust: Have a magical time!

Jen is back and had to take care of a sick Prince Phillip so I'm just getting on now...well I also had to start my trip report LOL!!!

Anyways I had the most magical trip ever!! Taking a solo trip for a Disney fanatic is the ultimate experience and I would recommend it for anyone! I had such a great time, besides the fact it was freezing...and NO I did not swim and I will let you know that even our beloved Kim (NorthernDisneyGirl) had to buy a sweatshirt, because she was chilly...LOL (I win LOL)
Hi Jen! Welcome to the almost newly named WDW depressed snowbirds thread. :rotfl2: COLD? It was 84 when I was there. Cold to me is what it was here in Pa. yesterday 18.:crazy2:

Do you remember what the days of the bounceback offer was???
I took the bounce back offer that was in our room when we arrived.:rotfl2:
I give it a look, and get back to you maggied!

Is it weird that instead of being excited, I'm sad because it will fly by so fast.

No, it is not. :grouphug: Our second night there I was feelign this way.
My DH swares that I just get excited planning trips and just the thought of going. :joker:

Do you remember what the days of the bounceback offer was???

For me, not including the 2008 dates still on the flyer, the dates were:
March 1-14
May 31-June 6
August 23-October 3.

What she said. *points up*

Well, I suspect the dates were for low time... Floridians are back in school by August 23rd. I'd totally do it, but my friend would rather see MNSSHP or MVMCP (holy cow, acronyms!). I kind of can't blame her!

Hi Snowbirds!!!

I'm home! DH and I had a fabulous adventure to the USA! We went to New York, Miami, Key West, and then of course... Disney World!!

We were in Disney for 12 nights and had a very fun, busy, crazy time, filled with lots of laughter, food and great times.

There were some not so great times too - mostly involving feeling full all the time (thanks, Deluxe Dining!), Brazilian tour groups, and worrying about our sick cat at home. I think she's okay now though!

We arrived home yesterday after being in transit for about 30 hours. Waaaah! I'm busy unpacking, washing clothes, and playing with my cat - but at the same time, loading our photos on PhotoBucket so I can start my dining report. Hopefully later today - I'll post the link when it's started!!

Lots of catching up to do on the DIS!! :cheer2:

Whew! Your post made me tired just by reading it! I have tons to do too, but I have all day tomorrow to get it done. Just remember, even if it all can't be done, you're still going to WDW and that's the most important thing of all! ::yes:: Maybe we'll bump into each other this coming week!
Just got home from hair appt and MIL's with a full belly and fresh vaca highlites :rotfl2: ! Hubby just told me he cancelled his client tomorrow so that will free up lots of time tomorrow to finish things up...NOT so stressed now! Andy just got home so he's going to start working on the tshirts! It will all get done, and if not, we'll be in Disney and you're right-WHO CARES!! You should come to our CBR meet on Saturday!

Good evening Snowbirds!
Well, I survived my last day of work before vacation, the science fair (some cool stuff) and ironed my DH's shirt (dress shirt for cruise). Did some more packing, organized stuff for DD5's backpack. Now just have to do the last minute stuff like toiletries and her sneakers (she needs them for school tomorrow and I want to pack them. She wants to wear her new Tink crocs!)
I have tomorrow to finish up the packing before they leave around 4. At least I will have the weekend to clean up the house before I leave Monday. It's um, rather in, well, shall we say "disarray"?

someone asked about quarters for pressed pennies. We have two tubes full. I had set out enough for 10 pennies for each girl, and they weren't full. So the girls dug out their purses (FULL of change) and piggy banks and added more to fill the tubes. I'd guess they each have enough to do 20 now. I don't even plan to go looking for the machines, but if we see them, we'll do it. Of course I will be the one lugging the heavy tubes around the parks! LOL!

Woohoo, I've started my dining reviews!! :cheer2:

If you feel like popping over and reading about our Disney dining adventures, follow the link below in my signature - hopefully it works!

:cool1:

Any chance any of you leaving within the next few days wants to stick me in your luggage?!?!?!

Sure - maybe I can have DH swing by and pick you up!! It's generally on the way!

Haha! GREAT!!!!!! I'd be a great asset to have along. I can drive(perfect driving record after 8 yrs.), plus I babysit all the time, so you and hubby could have some time to yourselves and I'd just play in the parks with the kids!:rotfl2:

However I think my boss would be a little ticked at me if I called and told him I needed more time off!:lmao:

I don't even know where CBR is, but thanks for the invite! We're off-property and we're eating at T-Rex on Saturday evening. I can't wait! I just love DTD!

Well, DH just finished up the majority of his packing, if you can call it that. 4 shirts? Honestly?? His response, "We have a washer and dryer." So, I guess he wants to be wearing the same outfit on different days in pictures. I just gave up. I still have TONS of packing to do tomorrow and I'm so excited!

Yay, you're back home...or, should I say, boo, you're back home....

I'm saving TRs for when I get back....something to look forward to when I have to come home :sad1:

Funny, too - I had recorded all these WDW Travel Channel specials - I had seen most of them once but wanted to watch them again to build up my anticipation right before leaving - ha, didn't need it...so now I can watch them when I get home :sad1:

Yeah, I know what you mean -- the guys on my trip are talking about just taking carry-ons while I'm worried about my luggage being too heavy. Although my luggage includes food for breakfasts, coffee [I heard WDW doesn't have good coffee], popcorn, etc....

And I LEAVE TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know if I'll log in tomorrow morning so I should say good night and good bye .... I'll see y'all on the flip side.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

And I want to see this guy one more time before I go --

:dancer:
