I'm feeling much better! I actually ate breakfast and am enjoying my morning cup of joe again!:surfweb: And now it's time to think seriously about Disney!!!!!

I love the power strip and over the door shoe holder ideas! I'm off to do some more reading about what's going on.

Did I mention that I've missed you all? :goodvibes

This time, next week, I'll either still be waiting for my groceries from Garden Grocer OR at WWoS with DH to pick up his marathon packet!!!

HOLY COW!!

Now that there's less than a week, I hope I can pin him down and get some idea of what HE wants to do (other than following me around, which he always claims he's happy to do but then we get to our destination and wouldn't you know it, he has his own ideas! I just wish he'd tell me earlier!).

I can't believe I still have a week of work left! Yuck! At least tomorrow's my birthday, the staff party for that is Monday, still working with one grad student for the grant deadline, I have to attend a horrible meeting on Wednesday and classes restart that day... then it's just a regular work week from there!

I probably won't bring the suitcases up until Thursday, but I'll be collecting things (swimsuits - if we have them, we don't need them. if we don't have them, we need them, rain ponchos, sunblock, etc) that we don't need now. I'll probably do laundry tonight (a day early) and then again in a few days, to get as many undergarments clean as possible!

But after packing for Alaska, Disney is a BREEZE! :lmao:

Hello All!!! Hope you are all enjoying another count-down weekend!! We are going 3 weeks from today!! I must say that I tinkered with the idea of making t-shirts, but I am soooooo not crafty or talented ....& how can I possibly do all this &&& hide it from all 3 kids. So, I don't think it's gonna happen this trip!! Maybe I will just to online and find somethings that are cute. We have plenty of time for them to be shipped to me. I only want 2 apiece, they won't wear that many matching outfits anyway!! The boys don't like it, but I think it'll be fun!!!! So, we are just hanging around this weekend! Well, me and the kids----hubby has some work to do at our subdivision---land clearing type stuff.
I go for a cut/highlights next week----my hair is kinda shortish--I have the back where it will lay flat or flip up really cute. But, I am tired of it!!! So, i am going back to a more Kate Gosselin haircut---I found a picture in the hair magazine of Sarah Harding that I absolutely love!! it's her new do. so, if you wanna know what kinda hair I will have.....you'll know me at Disney !!!!! But, I don't grow my bangs out long like that. Drives me nuts. But, I may be willing to try just a little longer this time. I absolutely love short hair---not a boy cut, but definitely short and sexy. Soooo much easier to do!! And all that product weighs my hair down so much......so, other than starting back up with:teacher: on Monday, that's what is new in my world!!!

Carrie-and all my  friends..hope you are feeling better by take off time!!!!

Thanks! Isn't animal print fun? :yay:

I do enjoy me some animal print! I have a fabulous vneck leopard print sweater!

I leave 3 weeks from today! Oh my goodness! At this time in 3 weeks, I'll be on the plane from JFK to MCO! I'm so excited! I also looked into making some shirts, but I decided against it. My DD got 4 Disney shirts for Christmas and I also bought her a Tink tank top for her birthday. That's 5 shirts and we're going to the parks 5 days! I have 3 shirts, but that's fine with me. My DH, forget it. He won't wear one. Well, I just wanted to get on here and say hello. I have a crazy day ahead of me! I have to jump in the shower, straighten my hair, do my game day make-up, and drive to the arena. I have to be there by 1:45pm, but I like to be at least half and hour early. Have a great day!

Hi all this time next week I will be in the car on my way. I hope to be at least out of the state of Illinois LOL. I have my Mousekeeping enevelopes done. I was cheesey (no pun intended) I just took an envelope & wrote Mousekeeping on them & decorated them with little shiny Mickey stickers. But I think I will write it in Spanish too good call. I will spend all day Tues packing since that is the only day I will be home. I got a really neat over the shower hanger at Walgreens to hold all of our stuff. It is the perfect size for shampoos etc & I can fit our toothbrushes too.

Good news I called POP & got them to add Sat night to our reservations. When I called the first time nothing was available. So I added Sat for free. We wont be getting in till very early Sun am but I love the idea that we can go straight to our room unpack, shower, & sleep before we hit the parks.

Last time, I did the shoe organizer over the door thing (I'm sure I picked up the tip here somewhere) and my family thought I was brilliant (of course ;) ). It worked really well when we had connecting rooms to go over that door, but in a regular room the hooks were a bit too small and took the paint off a bit of the top of the bathroom door (oops, sorry POP). :confused3 It worked well for everything, make up bags, personal care items, even chargers and batteries and other small items you seem to have NO place to put. This year my MIL got me a cute Lands End toiletry bag that has a hook so I don't know if I'll bring the shoe thing-Not sure yet.

You better get started! :goodvibes We are leaving Monday to spend time with family and then on to Disney on Tuesday.

I was able to get some more packing done last night. I got MOST of my stuff into the suitcase, which is a good start for me. I have to gather up all of the adapters for the various "necessary" electronics, which is such a pain in the tush.

6:30 am . . . time to get crackin'!

I know. I think I need to get more organized about this and make a list of the things I have left to do.
I'm finding it difficult to pack for 5 people- to think about what each person will need for a week and a half is really tricky.
I think 2/5 of us are done. So that's progress

I'm impressed you were awake and productive so early in the morning! It's 11 a.m. and I'm still in my PJs :rolleyes1

I've started packing for everyone LOL I put complete outfits, undies, hair pretties etc all in a ziplock baggie per day. Squeazed all the air out to make for easy stacking. That way I can give everyone their baggie for the day and make for easier mornings (I hope)

I just hope the weather is as nice as I'm crossing my fingers for!

I did this on our 1st trip when my DD's were younger and they wore what I told them to wear. Now it's a different story..being 12 & 9 they think I don't know style.:headache: But I do go over their choices and we still pack in outfits, just not in baggies anymore.

I also take a foldable laundry basket along to throw the dirty clothes in. We use to just throw them in an empty suitcase, but I think I'm going to do a load before we leave. Oh, and I'm taking a can of Fabreez...for those gassy moments :rolleyes1 in the room...

Carrie, so glad that you and your family are feeling better!! I'm really hoping to avoid the virus at WDW althogether.

I totally loved the power strip idea...and what do I do, I totally forget to buy one. Well, I'm not going to Wal-mart again today...so I'll just add it to the list for next time LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had that problem, too. We hung it on the closet rod. It was a bit too long and hit the floor, but still served the purpose.

I can't even imagine trying to pack for more than one person as I'm panicing just for me LOL!!! Wish you all the best as you get ready to pack for multiples!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We leave in 3 days (Tuesday!). I can't believe it's so close, I'm so excited.

My question for everyone is, what are you packing? Are you packing for all types of weather? It looks like the low temps are pretty chilly then it gets warm during the day. I've got a pair of jeans for everyone, sweatshirts, fleece jackets, then warm weather cloths.

Sounds like you have a great plan!!! I'm following the motto...Bring Layers!! I'm always going to have my hubby's jacket that folds nicely up in my backpack in case it gets chilly. I will have a couple of sweatshirts and t-shirts that I can take off my sweatshirt if I need to.

Haven't been on the Snowbirds thread very much lately, but I hope to post more now that our trip is getting closer! I haven't been able to sleep for days and I still have 18 days to go. I realized last night that it is the excitement and energy of this trip that seems to be giving me excess energy!

So here is a question- how are you spending your last day? Our flight leaves MCO at 3:30pm. Thanks to the 4/3 deal, we actually have our room reserved that night so we don't have to rush out. We are staying AKL CL so we could grab breakfast in the lounge and head to a park for a few hours. I was also wondering if we should try to score a character breakfast instead (I have CM planned for dinner on our last night but might be able to change it.) Thoughts?

Here's hoping to warm weather. Happy New Year to all and as a good friend just wrote: May You Always have Love to Share, Health to Spare, and Friends that Care!

YAY...I'm less than a handful of days away....:lmao:

For packing shampoo's and stuff like that, I have a "bathroom organizer" that my parents bought me a few years ago. It's amazing. It's not very big either. It has a hook that you can hang, otherwise it just zips and can sit/store anywhere. It holds all my "getting ready" stuff and then some.

So my agenda for the next few hours:
-finish laundry
-load new songs to mp3 player and cell phone
-pull out suitcase
-get addresses written down for postcards to send
-clean bathroom's
-clean guinea pig's cage
-dog needs bath (should probably do that before I clean the bathroom... )

Yes..that's just for the next few HOURS. I have some shopping I need to do with my mother later this afternoon - after she's had her nap and resting time. Then tonight my friend is coming over and we going to iron all the transfers onto the shirts....I figure it should go faster with 2 people working on them...right:rotfl:

Ok...must get started....if I don't check-in in a few hours, it's probably because I've decided to start walking to FL instead of doing all this crap....
